I know what you mean i run two tracks often that have a lot of on throttle landings and its rough on r&p's, i put a set in 2 weeks ago after losing a set and they are already popping; any tips on tightening up mesh or something, can the alum inserts from the 1 be used, is the case worn etc..

I had mine shimmed perfectly with 2.0 aluminum inserts with all new bearings, and still lost a set. I really think it's just a case of a poorly designed pinion gear. I will let you guys know how my testing goes with the mod once I get it all done.

He is modding the bulkheads to accept the larger bearings required for the XT8 pinions. You also have to use a different driveshaft. I will post the specifics once I get my stuff back.

The diff setup is exactly the same between the two. You can use a 1.0 gearbox and bearing inserts if you want, but the 2.0 versions are better. I too never had issues with diffs on the 1.0, but I also never had outer bearing troubles, if you get my point. It's a different truggy, so it has different issues. I really don't think the gearbox is the problem. The guy that is doing the XT8 mods(Mark Mader) did some testing and decided the pinion was the problem.

Has anyone found 8t 2.0 arm guards for the rear yet without just re-drilling the 1.0 guards?
