LARS JOHNSON. Do you race at Burlington at all? Some of us from Hutchinson are thinking about running there a couple times before the RC PRo series race later this year.

CHRIS! Come out and play, it's always a good time. May 20-22 is the Manufacturers Cup, the first big race of the year there. Not sure if he's running before then, but I'll see what I can find out.

The owner, Bill, is first class, he's done a LOT of work the last couple of years; the drivers' stand is huge, the layouts are always awesome - it is one of the best tracks in the state, no question. Plus, it's pretty much a party there the whole weekend.

i still cant find out what was wrong with the 1.0 diff cases?.....i bough my truck used almost 1 year ago to the date and have completely changed everything except...Diffs and cases(with alluminum bearing inserts)and brake disks, rear 1.0 shocks went upfront, side gaurds and wheel hex's.....everything else is 2.0....but i have been running the same ring and pinion since i bought it...when i clean and refill the diffs i clean and regrease the r&p...no shims on the pinion...i was hearing the chrunch under braking, and was told it was my r&p and to change them...well i cleaned the rear and looked at the r&p and they are still perfect, hardly any wear at all...im not making this up...i will take my truck apart again and show you pics....the crunching, i am hearing is coming from the center diff...i think its the old brake disks( original 1.0)...i dont run lots of brake, so the slightly ovalized disks are just making noise as they are put under pressure.... its not loud.

thats what some people who are having problems with the 2.0 t shimming should do.
get the 1.0 diff cases.

i never had one problem with my diff on the 1.0 t.

Even on the 1.0 gearbox I shimmed my rear diff. The only advantage to the 1.0 gearbox is that they were made out of slightly stiffer plastic compound which made them more rigid. The 2.0 design is much better. With the 1.0 gearbox the non-pinion side bearing insert could spin inside the gearbox = very bad.

As long as you replace the gearbox every now n' then, use aluminum inserts and shim the diff tight, the 2.0 gearboxes work just fine.

How often should the case be replaced? once a season? every 2 or 3 gallons? Mine has about 4 gallons on it with the same R/P. I pulled it apart and changed all the bearings and reshimed but wondering if I should do the case as well now.

Couple times in a race season is usually what I do. If you kill a R&P always replace it then as well.

Ran this UJ the first time over the weekend - suddenly got a lot more off power steering, highly recommend this upgrade
