so I've had my sc8 for months now, and it really hasnt seen use at all because there has been problem after problem, been back to AE three times. Well today I finally let it see some offroad, and here are 2 pictures, I felt that for its first use it was done some justice.

also, what is a good plug for the stock motor?

what glow plug does everyone recommend for the stock engine?

I use the McCoy MC59, but I think you can also use the O'donnell 99 plug.

Okay thanks, AE tech told me McCoy awhile back but for the life of me I can not remember which plug in particular so I thought i should ask here

Can't see it here in Germany.. Youtube music rules probably...

Shock towers

Doing a RC8.B to SC8.B conversion I guess you would call it and have ordered all the appropriate parts to do so but the towers. The factory towers look like a 10 y/o kid made them out of some flat stock...actually there are probably 10 y/o kids that could do a better job than those (apologize to you 10 y/o out there)

Only other thing I see is CF and those look a bit questionable also. Anybody running CF towers and are they holding up or is there another option I am not seeing/found?

thanks

anyone know if this would be the right kit to turn the motor to a pull start?

You talking about the factory towers on the SC8? The towers on the SC8 are of course very different because of the necessary body mounts... That's a lot of parts to have to order to get an RC8B to an SC8....

Yes I understand the height restriction of shock towers due to body clearance but I was wondering if anybody on this thread has the CF towers and how they are holding up?

Changing over the RC8b to the SC wasn't too bad, downloaded the excel spreadsheets for RC8 & SC8 off the AE website merged them and started shopping the list, SC8 stuff on Ebay and the balance through Stormer was really not that expensive. Most expensive item was the BCE RC8T chassis.

I didn't want the SC8 RTR kit as I have no need for any of the radio stuff or the motor.

Was just out testing an old used REX .21 engine in the SC8.. Was surprised how powerful it felt, because in a buggy it never felt that punchy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV3yz...ature=youtu.be

Not a very interesting video or anything. Just shows (IMO) that even a mild-ish .21 can get the job done in an SC8....

I think the REX PR 215 S is an older version of the Novarossi P5XLT.. It's some kind of older NR 5-port though I think.. This engine has several gallons through it, and was supposedly modded by the original owner for more top-end.... Does seem to have more top end than the Argus..

Love this truck!!! Just got back into R/C after over a decade away from it. Used to run Team Associated stadium trucks back in the day RC10T and RC10T2. Picked up my SC8 locally of Craigslist for $200. Truck rips!!! Been to the LHS twice and it has no problem hanging with anything I've seen there.

I'd like to state that I tried out a set of buggy rims/tires on super tacky prepped clay track and was experience A LOT more under steer than I was with my worked stock tires/rims. I believe the taller sidewall of the SC tire helps this heavy beast set-up and stay planted.

Just ordered some DE Trinidad wheels and will probably got with JC suburbs.

Again, LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!

Picking up a rc10 buggy too, since there's no one with SC8's to race with :(
