mugc0270 pins for the center drive shafts
mugc0271 pins for the axle drive shafts

I just changed mine today with a hammer, 8mm socket, and a vise. It took about 20 min to do all 6 shafts

Awsome, thanks bro! Yea I don't have the Bone Saver tool, just easier for me to describe which replacement pins were needed. I'll use your prefered method..btw, do you use any Mugen joint lube or run the cvd's(under dust boot) dry?

I use associated black grease in the centers because they are covered by the boots, i use a couple drops of odonnell o-lube in the outer axle joints.

I bought the pins this weekend at a race and tried to change them there with a 6mm socket and a hammer. Those pins wouldn't move 1mm :/ Did you heat them or something?

I did not have to heat them, i stood the 8mm socket on a steel work bench and placed the bone on top of the socket and gave them a few hard hits with the hammer, until the pin was flush with the bone on the one side. Then i used a center punch and a hammer to further drive the pin. Once it was past flush, then i moved to the vise. I used the new pin to push out the old pin using the vise and socket as a press. Some of pins come out harder than others. I have a friend that broke a pro motion chain breaker trying to change a set of losi pins. So if they dont come out, try a little heat.

What is the advantage of having the steering servo laying down.

The disadvantage seems that with the laydown setup you have a "double falling rate" at which the servo drives the steering. With a standup setup the servo throw is linear with the steering linkage. The standup setup is more direct and responisve.

Mugen had a laydown setup through the MBX5 years and went away from it.
