Thanks, Mike
Yes, the 7940,7945,7950 and 7954 are all labeled as high voltage servos. They do not need a regulator to run a lipo. However, you need to still check that your receiver can handle a lipo.

I only use original Mugen bearings. All seasson i have only used two complete sets, even if we had rain at 4 out of 6 races i have been too.. I do lubricate them with Kyosho bearing oil. I have tried all kinds of bearing oils before, but the Kyosho oil is just the really hot shit :-))

Am i in the Mugen thread? Just stop over voltage and get the new exclusive waterproof Servos from Traxxas. Comes with neat blue case and ultra light weight plastic gears. Handles streight lipo and won't last a heat. Problem solved DUH WINNING I actually tried these in my old jammin x1cr for kicks and they lasted about 3 race days NO JOKE It was the buggy that made them last.

BTW, my servos are HV servos and still run NiMh

same here, not a fan of lipo in nitro. i really like LiFe batteries in nitro, to bad i cant get one to last more than a month without going bad that fit mugen. i had a hobbico LiFe Source packs that i ran a year with zero issues or swelling, just wish they had one that would fit mugen. i am running Stickman 1600mAh NiMh batteries, gone over an hour with them a few times with no worry. all i need

7950TH and 7940TH are lipo voltage rated. I ran both before I switched to the Savox Stuff. All are great servos!
Regarding NiMh batts vs. Lipos-I never had runtime issues with NiMh. The reason I run Lipo is for the higher voltages. Servos run faster and make more power. What's not to love?
Yes the Airtronics 92744 FHSS-3 Rx is rated for high voltage use. This is what I run in all my 8 scale vehicles.
Also, All Airtronics FHSS-4T surface receivers now have a Nominal Input Voltage rating of 4.8v ~ 7.4v. This would be the RX-461 that comes with the MT-4 Radio and the optional RX-462.
All of the current Spektrum rx's are rated to 9.6.
All of the current 2.4ghz KO rx's are rated to 7.4.
AMB/Mylaps PTs are rated to 9.6 as well, so no issues there.

i have to agree with AM, mugen bearing are excellent quality and last for ages, price we pay is reasonable so I just chuck them when they go off.
I just switched my 6T to the new KO rsx servos and running a 2200 lipo, they have a power version @31kgs 0.11 speed and a responce version @ 17.6kg and 0.06 speed...they really make the truggy dance!!
still sticking with the life 1600 and 1400 muchnore in buggy with ace 1015 still good in the lighter buggy.
If you don't run them flat, leave them pluged in or get them too hot (like sitting in the hot sun) they will last longer.

Hyperion Life 1450 mah packs are great. Thats all I have ever run in my buggy. I have had two in two years, never a single problem. Inexpensive as well and will last a 45 minute main.

I run the Protek 2300 Lipo and I dont have a doubt it would make warm up +1 hr. We usually run 3 7min quals then a 20min main roughly 45min total run time give or take with warm up laps etc.. Most mah I have put back in is around a 1000-1200. Using Hitec 7955/7954 servos.
