Need some advise on setup...

or
Ninja MR21 B01A 5 port Competition Engine

Pipe:
OFNA Jammin JP-3 Hard Anodized Off Road Tuned Pipe
or
TSAIS Hard-Anodized 1/8 Off-Road Competition Pipe

Which engine is easier to tune? I heard that you have to use a heat gun to turn over the Ninja. Any advise would be great...

V-Spec speed and a 2050 pipe.

Speed and 2050 or 2060. Extremely easy to tune. Just don't lean out the bottom too much.

Speed V-spec with a 2060 it is a monster and super easy to tune.

DO NOT get the magnesium head its crap and does not work,get an aftermarket head or the new speed aluminium head.

I forgot to add that most engines need to be heated up , And all engines SHOULD be heated up during break in.It makes the rods life much easyer and keeps your frustration to a mimimum lol

Thanks for the feedback...

I bought the OS engine (NIB) and used JP-3 to run in my 8B. Plus I just bought a 8B with a (NIB) Ninja .21 and used Tsais pipe from a friend that needed the money.

I guess I will run the OS engine and JP-3 for now. If anyone has a 2050 or 2060 for .21 let me know how much you want for it.

If anyone is interested I will sell:

Pros:

Fast, quick, jumps like a kangaroo on crack, is very precise..it CAN out handle about anything out there....tough as nails too (at least for me it was).

Setups - responds very well to adjustments

Cons:

Precise - it goes both ways...it can be squirrely to drive - you can make 3-4-5 great laps, then have 2-3 bad ones, and still think you are fast, but you look at the clock and you lost 2 seconds a lap. For a some people, it is a great buggy, and if you are a smooth driver, you should do well. if you like to nail it hard, slide into the corners and throw it around, it will not be the best bet for you imo.

Setup - very picky on setup (throttle especially). I did all the mods and spent HOURS setting up my EPA's, linkages, making sure I was parralel on the horizontal and vertical planes, etc, etc, and ran my 8ight for 7 months with no issues...I finally burnt out a throttle servo, but that was because the carb locked up - funny thing is this was my 3rd carb that locked up on this buggy....the throttle setup needs to be 100% exact for it to work correctly..I likely had it at 90% correct and thought it was good...my carbs tell me other wise (you can see scratches and gouges in the carb slide from it pulling against the idle screw)

Quality - mine was fine, but I am hearing of a rash of issues with diff cups, etc going bad in a 15 minute race..not sure if they did a bad run of plastics or what?

What sort of brake bias are you guys setting up your 8 with? I tried several bias adjustments today and was hard to get it comfortable, it seems to really stand on its nose a lot like the front end is to soft even with less front bias it still dives under hard braking making it a bit taily in the rear end, i have the kit setup still atm, just starting to get myself familiar with this buggy.

^^^The boss engine is the same as the Ninja, just a different cooling head. Same as the Falcon...

If I am on a bigger track where it is harder to see your car due to depth perception I usually run around 50/50 bias to calm the car coming in the turn. But if you are on a really small track with lots of 180 degree turns, then I run 30/70 to get around the tight turns better
