I think tex is right about the Airtronics servos, they used to be awesome servos a few years ago. I do like them, but now my 358s are sloppy, seem to kill the battery at times, and for the money, there are better choices out there for the same price.
The brushless Futabas seem nice, but I would rather use the JR 9100 series servos:
JR 9100S 180oz/in @ .06 second transit time
JR 9100T 370oz/in @ .15 second transit time

Also, I would NOT recommend a JR servo for throttle, simply because JR servos sit higher than others (their eyelets are lower on the servo case) and the arm and brake linkage will rub the body. It's more likely to cause aesthetic issues (who wants to see a scratched paint job and a body that bends up and down) but any extra force on the servo IS extra force on the servo, and eventually may make a difference in performance (particularly if it's a cheaper one).

Hi I am new to this thread and I have a question.
I know its been asked a few times but this thread has so mush posts I dont know where to look.
I am gone buy me a 8T race roller fore the 2008 season. I want to know wat the basic Hop Ups wil be to make it Bullit Proof and race ready.
I was thinking of the KHZ long motor mount.
Some CVD condoms.
Anything else?
thanks Hellsavage

The only hopups I use are the King Headz radio tray and CVD condoms. The car is perfect in its stock form.

I'd like to know also. I have only used the Mugen oil. Haven't had the losi stuff in my hands at all. I wonder if the Mugen is thicker and that's why my car seems different than others'. Gonna have to ask the pros around here to see what they use. Their cars are so much more comfortable to drive. But when they drive mine they say, "I don't know. Feels pretty close to mine." And then I'm disgusted with myself. LOL.

I hear alot of people are having motor issues with the box. Might be just a little set up issue though. Although it should just fit the buggy, and truggy shouldnt it?

[QUOTE=buckeye-mac;3759555]whats up with the losi starterbox's, are they that bad. Stores are practically giving them away.
i have the same question! I just got one and I have to do numerous things just to get it to work with my buggy. I have the 8 RTR. here is what Losi tells me I have to do before it will work and maybe some one can help me with this.
1. cut the chassis?? read an earlier post on shaving the starter wheel-SOLVED!
2. buy new motor mounts (Losi A9154) to lower the motor (stock Mach 427) so the flywheel is lowered. The problem I see here is that the motor has the spin start backplate and this will physically not fit. Can I just remove the spin start backplate or do I need to put a new backplate on? Is there a fix?
Do I need to get a new motor? I'd rather sell the brand new Starter box.
Please help!
