Seeing the latest results, I cant help but think, Is this car too stiff? I don't know much about anything, but my first impressions of the design was this thing has to be super solid. Maybe too solid. with the extended motor mount and the rear brace. I can see people cutting off the motor mount extension. There were extended motor mounts available aftermarket for the 3.0/4.0 but people do not use them much.

No.. that is wrong thinking: with a 3 mm chassis plate now, not 4 mm like before, the car will be MUCH more forgiving and stable in the rough and at lower speeds
I has more flex build in
and with a 3 mm chassis, if you don't have good long braces it will flex too much, perhaps break or bend after a while..
or the bell will make contact, or the center shafts could crash and bend on impact
To see also if the chassisplate has enough folded upwards sides or not..
Here the problem is happily fixed, with a nice long but plastic rear brace, even using an articulation at his base, and a longer engine mount, which is normaly an option part..

For me the major difference is the shock package, the radio tray, the gearboxes and center diff, straighting out the drive train, steering rack, adjustable arms with F/R shock locations. And of course the most asked for thing on the 8ight series of cars - METRIC HARDWARE....... ijs

Up to Speed? Reno did qualify 6th overall with a BRAND NEW car. I do believe if he didn't flame out he would have finished top 5. I think you are panicking a bit for a car that has not been released yet.... Im currently running the 4.0 with the tuning chassis and alum rear brace and kingheadz extended motor mounts...With the evo springs the car is dialed on rough tracks..

+1 on that......very surprised not to see u-joints on it....also I think it does require the longer rear brace and extended engine mount as it is now a 3mm chassis and the throttle/brake servo is floating meaning there is no full length radio tray to help stiffen the chassis behind the centre area.
