I run a 4076 non-sensored (76mm) with MMX in an EB48 (same chassis), but it is tight. It works ok because I have chassis bracing that stops all flex, it would not be ok without it and flex would probably have the motor hit the ESC. If I had to do it again, I would stick to 74mm which is regular Truggy can and more than enough torque.

I'm in backorder jail. Everything is due mid or end of month June, but end of summer is looking good.

Is there anyway to "truggify" the MT410? I guess by that(upon further reflection, ha..) I just mean add a wing kit and maybe a truggy style body..

Also, is it really %100 rock solid all bone stock - no modds needed? Not looking to go insane jumping over houses etc. But I a.) don't want to have to mess with mods, and b.) don't want to be stuck with a truck in 2-3 years I can't get parts for, for a truck with broken parts...

Not keen on the situation in Germany with just one supplier, either. Non-availability and lack of competition among retailers is a major deal-breaker IMO. But for whatever reason there doesn't seem to be much on the market for 8th scale offroad these days... Anyway, the distributor and lack of availability is probably the main thing putting me off. Plus I would prefer a truggy, but the ET48 is too expensive - and hideous IMO... Thanks..

All parts are common to their buggies and truggies. It's all off the shelf parts. Buggy chassis, Truck arms, etc.

The alloy servo horn is frequently a recommend upgrade (e.g. https://www.teknorc.com/shop/tkr5253...p-double-hole/)

This thread had kinda died down a bit. Is the mt410 still a popular truck these days? How's everyone still enjoying theirs or what have you moved on to that you enjoy as much or more?

Herrsavage 07-23-2020 07:41 AM

This whole forum is dead, unfortunately... I just got a Kraton, and all anybody seems to be talking about on that front is the - massively overpriced - 8S... I get the impression a little bit people have moved on to X-maxx's, 8S Kratons, and even more stupidly overpriced money-pit 5th scales...

still popular as ever, and constantly sold out, so that should speak for its popularity. This thread and basically this and most traditional web forums are dead as everyone has moved to Facebook groups for the most part. Join the tekno MT bashers group, very busy page.

Dang I guess I'm old school or just old or maybe a little of both. So maybe I am showing my age here, but had I not known about Tekno (which up until recently i did not) how would someone go about discovering general info if not for forums such as this? Is Reddit a more popular forum medium than retech.net is? Basically I'm trying to figure out what I should read to learn about different vehicles and whatnot?

word of mouth, really, not too different from the old days I guess.

reddit is full of beginners which is nothing wrong with that but it’s what it is. Lots of rtr and “scale” content while posts by people who build stuff or hot rod things rarely get attention. I learned about new stuff from getting updates from rccaraction, rcdriver, etc and YouTube channels . yeah, rccaraction, talk about showing my age, lol.

I'm old school also, I guess, sort of. I'm 41 and got into rc in the 80s, and I still prefer message board/forums like this one, which i guess is the reason I'm here right now lol. Facebook itself isnt for everyone, but really you can avoid all the fluff if you simply use it for the groups. Theres groups for quite literally everything under the sun, and tons of RC pages. Groups can be searched for pretty easily, and most groups can be searched within the group itself. It's a different experience than a forum like this, but it's where the majority of the traffic is, so I go with the flow.
