If your running the stock chassis, id go with the hitec 82 or 85. I believe the 81 is discontinued (thank god). Only about 1 in 10 center correctly. If you have the option, id go with a smaller servo, such as the JR SM22.

Alright, go the SM22 like you guys recommended. I have this Penguin RC P7500 Chassis coming with it, I under that the exotek conversion is what you guys recommend. Can you go from the M18 to the Exotek Chassis with just M18 Pro mounter mounts? This is how I understand it. I could be wrong. Thanks

You need the motor mount, and the rear shock mount (exotek also has one)

I dont think the penguin chassis has mount holes for the small servo, just the standard size ones. You would have to shoe goo it on.

Does the stock chassis fit it? Also this isn't a stock class. I'm trying to keep this in budget so I'm thinking of going with the Hobbywing Combo(7800KV Motor, ESC, and Program card for $47). Any advice about that? I'm really really trying to keep this under budget but it's quickly sailing over that mark. This is supposed to be just a relaxed 3rd class for me. Thanks for all the advice.

Not sure what you mean if the stock chassis wil fit? If you mean the SM22 servo, it will not. Only the exotek has holes for sub micro servos. All other only fit regular micros like the 82 or 85

Im partial to the Castle systems, but the HW setup should run fine.

That's what I meant. I will have to make the sm22 work. You can't just drill the holes? I haven't even seen this so please excuse if this is a dumb question. I got the hw setup so hopefully it will work out for me.

Btw, thanks for all of your help. It's been great.

Not a problem

You can always drill the appropriate holes if you wanted to, some people wouldnt feel comfortable modifying a chassis like that

I'm from the 8th scale off road world where that doesn't really get you in trouble. Is it a bad idea here?

Not really. The chassis is a bit thinner than in offroad, but as long as you use care you will be fine

You cant really go by the molded wheel well lines (for any body really). Normally I will take a sharpie and outline where the tire is, and then cut the line I marked. It also doesnt help that the Mazda is fairly narrow, so if it is off left to right at all, it can rub more easily.

Aftermarket bodies... none at the moment... stay tuned for more info on this...

Alright guys, I'm ready to order some upgrades. Do I need a special motor mount for the brushless motor? Also which servo saver, ball diff and where the hell can I find these atomic shocks/springs you guys speak of? LOL

Thanks again
Stephen
