anyone racing these timeless cars? with the re-release of the micro rs4 and the new la traxx rally cars, 1/18 scale racing is making it's come back. several places are running the la traxx rally cars.

I took out my m18 and micro rs4 cars from storage.

Default Reviving an original M18

Can someone please tell me what parts I need to get to upgrade an original M18 into using the hex wheels?

Also do I need a special motor mount to fit in a 1/18 brushless motor and what gears I would need?

Anyone still running the M18? Looking for a good lipo pack that will fit in my M18 pro chassis. Has anyone tried the MKS HV69 metal gear micro digital servo?

Hi, nowadays the electronics are much easier and cheaper to obtain than before (when 1/18 was sadly last relevant) due to the wide variety available. I have installed a Blue Bird BMS-391T in mine and it is a perfect fit. I've attached pics of the installation, and here's the link so you can at least compare sizes.

Regarding the LiPO pack, again lots of options available, just take measurements and be creative with mounting (not sure if the M18 PRO battery holders work, I've ditched them and just taped the pack). Lots of packs are short, so you can put some components in front or behind. I have a cheap ZOP 1000 mAh 25C pack from banggood which does the job perfectly, and it's very compact size means I can put the ESC in front. If I remember correctly the brushless packs in the last racing days of M18s were 1300-1800 mAh, so there's your ballpark. Some were hardcase, which I don't find necessary here.

Here's my baby, rebuilt with fresh electronic and ready to rip - as soon as a carpet track opens Love the M18, one of the best RC designs ever.

Perfect match for the stock slots for the servo holders
