I fixed that and it got worlds better but still not great. The diff was gritty… I dropped in the old trusty stock gear diff and the car was ready for a timed run. While this time is a lot slower than my stock time, I’m thrilled that I have the car drivable now. I suspect in the coming months, I will have more to show for this setup. |

Hello All, We had a couple of new/return racers this month, for a total of 6 with some close racing. Box Stock 1st - ChemNut - 343.9/4.29s 2nd - LuckyLou - 345.5/4.43s 3rd - Traveler - 347.2/4.42s 4th - FastJew - 352.5/4.52s 5th - TomtheGeek - 383.5/4.66s Porsche Cup 1st - Traveler 344.6/4.22s 2nd - ChemNut - 358.3/4.43s Stock Class 1st - ChemNut - 317.0/4.00s 2nd - Traveler - 321.4/4.09s 3rd - FastJew - 339.0/4.18s 4th - Cdog4w - 457.4/5.38s Pro Stock Class 1st - Traveler 319.6/4.06s 2nd - ChemNut - 334.6/4.02s Open AWD Class Some really close racing in Box Stock class, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd separated by 2 seconds each and 4th only 5 seconds back. And new guy ChemNut continues to dominate in most of the classes. FTM goes to ChemNut and his Stock car with a smoking 4.00 fast lap. Date-08/18/2021 Location- Elkton MD Race Time- 338.42 Fastest Lap - 4.29 Chassis-MR-03 Body- Audi R8 Tires- PN KS firm front (22.5 mm), Marka V1R10 rears Motor- box stock Batteries- Orion 900HV Front Springs- kyosho red T-Plate- silver PN #4 Motor Mount- MM. Dampener Box stock Gearing- 7t Notes: The only change for this month was the addition of a 1.7mm spacer between the T-plate and the motor pod to lower the chassis to a height of ~1.5-1.7 mm. Date-08/08/2021 Location- Elkton MD Race Time- 317.50s Fastest Lap- 3.93 Chassis-PNR 2.5, EVO board Body- Jomurema with lexan roof Wheelbase-98mm Tires- PN KS firm trimmed to 22.5 mm front, Marka V1R10 rears Motor- kyosho speed 4100kv BL Batteries- Orion 900HV Front Springs- PN Green (PN front end) T-Plate- wolfram CF #5 Motor Mount- Kyosho MML Dampener Kyosho CF disk damper. Dampener Fluid N/A - Gearing- 44/7 PN stock kyosho gear diff. Notes: changed from the MZ309/310 LM rear pod with side springs to the kyosho aluminum MML pod with CF disk damper. This allowed me to have a lower rear ride height of ~1.5 mm and enabled the use of the more grippy PN firm tires (seemed more grippy than my old MZW2-30’s). Date-08/15/2021 Location- Elkton MD Race Time-349.26 Fastest Lap-4.33 Chassis-MR-03 Body- Porsche 911 GT3 RSR 2005 No136 Yokohama MZP126AD Wheelbase-90mm, narrow front Tires- MZW39-40 front (22.5mm), PN KS medium narrow +2 rears Motor- PN70T BB Batteries- Orion 900HV Front Springs- kyosho purple T-Plate- PN CF #3 Motor Mount- PN reconfigurable mount. Dampener PN disk damper Fluid - N/A Gearing- 8/44 - stock gear diff. Notes: I didn’t get a chance to log many full runs with the Porsche but I spent a lot of time tweaking. Traction roll is the big enemy here - and this older ASC body is more narrow than the newest 911 GT3 RS ASC bodies. This is most evident in the rear - where trying to lower ride height results in wheel rub even with 0 offset tires. Box Stock 1st - ChemNut - 338.4/4.29s 2nd - Traveler - 350.5/4.51s 3rd - FastJew - 368.2/4.49s Porsche Cup 1st - ChemNut - 349.3/4.33s Stock Class 1st - ChemNut - 317.5/3.93s 2nd - Traveler - 324.1/4.06s 3rd - LuckyLou - 328.2/4.19s Pro Stock Class 1st - ChemNut - 344.9/4.02s Only ChemNut improved his counter clockwise time in Box Stock and Porsche over his clockwise time in prior month and FTM goes to ChemNut and his Stock car with a smoking 3.93 fast lap.
