Notes: If I wasn’t such a noob this car could have delivered me times in the 240’s, but I spent almost all my time trying to beat Lou in stock haha. I spent at least an hour per day (track time) driving this track with my stock car. Switching back to box stock was a tough transition, and I spent a fair bit of time swearing at myself as I plugged the car nearly into the walls… M96 world challenge is a sick addiction…

Notes-I would have posted this sooner but was hoping to get a better run in. I did actually beat this one with a 310s and 3.2 fast lap run but didn't save the screenshot unfortunately. Had to repair the transmitter so glad I was able to compete at all. The spring on the wheel broke so I had to pull it all apart and fix that. The tension is a little weak now and not sure I like it, may put a stronger spring in. Car was driving really well after an afternoon of tuning. New tires, springs and T-plate have it driving on rails. If I can do my part this car can do some fast laps. Cannot believe I've gotten an unofficial 3.2s fast lap.

Some really close racing in Box Stock class, with 1st and 2nd separated by only 3/10 of a second and 3rd only 3.5 seconds back, and an upset in Stock with the new kid on the block ChemNut leapfrogging LuckyLou and Travel to take first, while ChemNut and LuckyLou were both running sub 4 min times.

FTM goes to ChemNut and his Stock car with a smoking 2.88 fast lap.

Hi Traveler2,

I got my track setup and my old trackmate system going, but I'm trying to figure out what class I qualify for. It's been close to a decade since I ran the car :) I think it's either stock or pro stock? Also, I was trying to figure out what times to shoot for, but it's pretty hard to find the last time this layout was run, any thoughts on a good starting point?

I backordered a red audi mr03 for box stock class, hopefully it won't be an age until I get it.

Also, anyone aware of bluetooth (added BT serial module to trackmate timer) capable android lap timing apps? I don't want to have to pull out the laptop for practice laps :)

• I have an old ma010 27am, converted to asf.
• I think it's running x-speed, it has a black bell, but not sure. Stock gearing.
• Ball diff rear, gear up front.
• Option or 3rd party swing shaft.
• PN 2 degree front knuckles and PN front upper.
• PN wheels, unsure on tires, they are patterned.
• Epson NSX 2005 body, so I believe 94mm?

Notes- Went to v5r20 in the front for more grip since half the course is hairpins. I'm at like 80% dual rate and have more than enough steering now. It's sort of surprising how much tuning the car needs between track layouts but it can make a huge difference. Car was very jumpy at the end of the run harder to keep it from traction rolling.

I use Laptrax on Android. Have to use a mount for the cell phone and good lighting.

Pulled the motor, it's an AWD XSpeed V [part # MDW023]. Can't find the turn count anywhere. I'm guessing it throws me into pro-stock unless I change the motor.

My first Mini-Z was an AM AWD with the 90mm white Subaru body followed almost immediately with an AM MR-02. That was about 14 years ago.

The X-Speed is a 50T motor and would put you in Pro-Stock, as you suspected. Switching to the stock white end bell motor will make you legal for Stock. Those tires look like Kyosho treaded tires. Look on the outside sidewalk to confirm it says Kyosho, and the inside sidewall for the shore embossed there. They are probably 20 or 30 deg.

Some people can be competitive with the AWD, but I never could be. Glad you ordered a RWD. Will be interesting to compare the two platforms. If you are on FB, some of the guys have posted some early times. I hope to get some laps in this weekend.
