My first box stock go at this was 403.012 with a fast lap of 4.143.

Bmr4life 03-07-2022 05:02 PM

I need to crash a lot less. Box stock 403.63, fast lap 3.94.

chjosi 03-09-2022 08:54 PM

I was able to take 4 more seconds off tonight.

3/10 - 3 more seconds off and got into the 3.8s. There is easily another 20+ seconds to shave off.

3/13 - Down to 381 seconds. PSA: maintenance your cars, they handle more predictably. I had two back to back sub-6 minute runs going until I went lid down on the same corner each run.

I finally got my track in!!! Unboxing it and I'm going to set up for this months layout, but I can't seem to see if which surface is up: smooth or rough?

Does doing the kingpin flip move me out of Box Stock?

After seeing the RCP track I am happy I went with it and not try to DIY one! It is very well put together and made!!! Can't wait to get running on it.
Thanks for the Help!
Drew

Glad you finally got it. Well worth it if you ask me. Smooth side up, kingpin flip legal in Box Stock. Enjoy!

BoxxerBoyDrew 03-17-2022 06:03 PM

Thanks Traveler2!
Kenon was Awesome in keeping in touch with me while we were waiting for the track to ship from RCP! A+ online retailer for sure!
Now to really try out the Mini-Z!!!

BoxxerBoyDrew 03-18-2022 01:58 PM

Well I got my Son's room moved around to set the track up and unfortunately the room is 1" too narrow!!!! So I took out 1 set of tiles on the right side loop to make it fit! I will practice with it like it is until we can make room to lay it out in the other direction so I can add back the tiles. Even with the removed tiles I am in NO WAY a threat to yalls times! I'm going to have to turn A LOT of laps to get anywhere close to what yall are running!
Now I understand while everyone is turning down their steering dual rates, MAN RCP has traction!!! No more drifting.
THANKS AGAIN for everyones help!
Drew

BoxxerBoyDrew 03-21-2022 08:55 AM

I've run a few runs of timed 75 laps, and I am able to turn 6.5 second laps WHEN I can keep it off of the wall!!! The AMG GT3's front splitter and wings bring the car to a dead stop with all but the lightest brushes, so I ordered a white Jomurema body to help along my learning curve! Hopefully it's rounded nose design will help with the abrupt stops. I know taping the rails is an option, but I want to try everything else as I am worried about tape residue being left on the foam.

Man you guys sure have some good hand eye coordination to run the quick times yall post!!! I would love to see a sub 4 second laps turned in person! I keep imagining Speedy Gonzales in a maze!
Having a Blast!
Drew

BoxxerBoyDrew 03-22-2022 09:31 AM

After a few hundred laps I'm able to get 5.5 second laps in groups of 5 or 6 then I start bouncing off the rails! LOL

Fastest Lap-5.29
Chassis-Kyosho MR-03
Body- AMC GT3
Wheelbase-98mm

Rear- PN KS Radial Soft
Batteries- PN 900Ma AAA

My Jomurema body will be here today, and HOPEFULLY it will help with my times as I keep on sticking the front splitter and winglets on the rails. Being painted black they blend into the RCP and disappear, so I misjudge the nose of the car! Now I just need to figure out what color to paint it. Something bright, I'm thinking blue, green, maybe orange? Also I see what yall meant about the reverse problems. Sometimes it's quick to reverse, others it takes 3 or 4 tries , and it adds HUGE amounts of time!!!
Anyway the Mini-96 is a blast to drive, but very challenging!!!
Drive Fast and Take Care!
Drew

P.S. I got the Jomurema body in and setup , and WOW what a difference! I am able to run MUCH faster, and no more abrupt stops from light touches of the rails! Makes it much less frustrating.

Splitters and winglets are often trimmed, shaved or removed to reduce this problem. I was very upset when I recently broke my Ferrari 458 body that I use on two cars, but just happened to have picked up a Jomurema which I will try for the first time. I've heard nothing but good things about how it handles and glides off the rails.

Keep practicing!

BoxxerBoyDrew 03-28-2022 04:09 PM

LOVING the Jomurema body!!!! I am able to turn 5.5 second laps regularly and I broke into sub 5 second laps too! 4.72 is my fastest lap, but my times are still not the greatest, as I am having trouble with both Lap Trax and LapTimer missing laps. Both are missing the car at least 5 times per race , and trying to drive the car so it gets counted throws me off the line and I wind up in the wall! LOL I've just had my phone or Ipad resting between the rails, so I am going to get some PVC to build a bridge over the track to see if it will work better.

I'm liking the Jomurema white, but I read somewhere the phone/Ipad have trouble with white bodies. But my Reflex body is white and Laptrax picks it up just fine, but thats outside so maybe the sunlight helps? Anyone run into this? Anyway here's a screenshot of my last run that was actually 82 laps with the missed laps.

Class- Open
Date- March 28, 2022
Location- Madison, WI
Race Time- 311.49
Fastest Lap- 3.72s
Chassis- Atomic MRT
Body- Abarth Fiat 500 Lexan

Tires- GL 17, Gecko Medium
Motor- 5600kv
Batteries- 360mah lipo
Front Springs- Stock
Rear Springs- Extra Hard
Gearing- Stock
Notes- Had lots of fun with this layout. Still need to work on the car setup so it stops traction rolling. Could get a few tenths on each lap if I didn't have to drive as careful. Was hoping to gear down some more so I didn't have to drive at 5% but turns out the kit gearing is as high as it goes for the MRT. Lots of potential yet to unlock with this car.
