I've putting in a lot of laps this week and my times have noticeably dropped. I started the month at 499s on the race time, so I feel like I came a long way. Treads are gone on the radial rears and the front are super thin. I'm running out tires lol but they're on order though. I have a tuning question. When changing T-Plates stiffness what characteristics change on the car. Same with the front springs. I have an EVO that I haven't really run much, because I have been more focused on my driving and understanding of the car. If I have time I might do an entry for the EVO this month. The EVO is definitely a faster car but my times on the box stock is faster.

Nice work! Best way to answer tuning questions is trial and error. The effect can be different on different cars, or using t-plates or springs from different manufacturers. Plus its more of a feeling, so hard to describe. Just make one change at a time and test. I take notes as I go, so I don't have to remember. Eventually you'll just know what a car needs...

I do the majority of my tuning by feel, I care most about how comfortable the car is to drive. Every track and layout may require a different setup for that feeling, but often a setup that favors stability slightly will be the most consistent over the stint.

on smaller tracks like the mini-96, you need full steering capability. So the main goal in that setup is to offer a front end with good stability into and off the corner, while offering a lot of mid corner steering. Generally, a slightly softer setup than a large circuit is required, and once sorting out the tire, it is getting the spring right. Softer spring will have more pitching and body roll in the corners. Going too soft you will start to lose traction on the opposite end of the car (rear into the corner, and front off the corner). After springs, it's figuring out the damping. Even in a box stock scenario, damping can make the setup more consistent. Grease on the shaft on the center shock, and kingpins can calm an edgier car to become consistent. Damping essentially slows the reaction as the mass transfers f/r and side to side. Too much damping (grease too high viscosity) will slow the transfer too much, and make the mass stay too long at that part of the car beyond where you want it to be. Reverse front kingpin work better with grease than the traditional layout does. Generally, 5-15k grease works well on smaller circuits where you want more body roll, and 15-30k is better for larger circuits. I often start dry, then work my way up.

I wasn't able to run as I wanted, unfortunately once per category, apart from the Lm with which I managed to do two races.
I would have liked to test more, the tmepo is always little ... let's see if I can improve at least the stock. Work, family and commitments do not always leave more space. Thanks to Jim and Marwan for the good work you do in the M96WC.The photos of the machines can be found on the group page on facebook

Notes-
+4 toe bar. Have the stock motor installed so I don't have to run in Super Stock anymore. Car is running more predictably with the harder Tplate and springs. Getting some traction rolling on the fast corners yet and may play around with front/rear balance to see if that helps.

I'm wondering if I take the Disc damper off, would this car qualify for Box Stock?

What else is on the car? I see a ball diff that would need to go as well to fit in with the Box Stock rules.

Cheers,
Jim

Oh yeah I would have to remove the ball diff. It's got the +4 front toe bar also. Not much else is on it, started as an LM car secondhand so I didn't get all the conversion parts with it. Which is why I bought the MM2 pod and ball diff. I've flipped the kingpins in front.

Nearly identical time to last month but hey consistency! Tried running my 98mm GLR tonight but it's got major problems, seems like the rear wheel is lifting and not sure I like the PN Firms in front.
