Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum. Mainly signed up to log some mini 96 times as I just received my track yesterday. What side of the track are you running? I'm hoping smooth as that is how I have it setup now and all of my local tracks run it on the smooth side.
I will be running 4 different cars:
Kyosho EVO
3500KV
Double A-Arm suspension
PN Motor pod
64P diff
Kyosho F1
5600KV brushless
Kyosho diff
Springs
GLR
3500KV
2S lipo
GLF
3500kv
2S lipo

Hello Grubby,
Welcome and glad you are joining us. For some reason March has been very slow but I will rattle some cages and see if we can get some more peeps to run this weekend. I plan to set up the track this evening as we have gone to a day week at work so I am off tomorrow.
If you go up to post 698 you will see this months circuit and we are running on the smooth side. This months track is a bit boring but very much a rhythm circuit and getting through the little chicane well will make or break your lap.
Looking forward to seeing your times.
Cheers,
Jim

I finally documented my 102mm GLR with the larger LHS track setup and tore it down ready to rebuild into a short course setup. I'd been keeping it tuned for the larger track but with that closed might as well start on a small track setup. I want to run this car instead of the GLF-1 on this month's track as it is much tighter than the previous layouts and I need the smaller wheelbase. Gonna have to bust out the really sticky front tires.

Hello All,
Anyone else running laps? There were two guys from the Facebook groups saying they were going to run, I know Grubby has signed up and I believe he is running laps and Traveler sounded like he may get motivated to run some laps this weekend.
I got to run some laps yesterday, I started with my stock 94mm car and at first it was super frustrating as I had a lot of on throttle oversteer. I just could not get on the throttle while still turning without the rear end stepping out. I could not figure it out until my son commented he was freezing and when I went to turn up the thermostat I saw that it was 64* in the house. Once the heat came up a but so did the traction.
I also changed up a bunch of bodies which is always fun, I am going back and forth on my 94mm Stock car running the F360 and C5R. I really would love to find a C5R white body and do a more race oriented body with lexan windows......I think that would be killer. On my 90mm stock I swapped out to the F40 body which I have not run in ages. I have not run the F40 since I added weight to my 90mm chassis and the car is running really well matching the fast lap of the 94mm car but just not quite there on race time. Lastly I ran my GLR and switched out to the 599 body, it had been eons since I ran this body and I had forgotten just how pretty it is and it is quick holding the fastest race time so far.
It is a rainy yucky day up here in CT so I imagine I will be getting some laps in this afternoon as well....looking to break into the 340's with my GLR.
Cheers,
Jim

I was running laps and did terrible on that layout. I switched over to the original M96 layout to get a better grip of driving on a small track compared to the huge one we have at our local shop. Best lap I could do with any car was a 4.7. I don't know how the heck you guys run 4 sec or lower. It's not an easy cross over that is for sure.

< 4 sec is really next level. Ran some laps tonight, will have an entry tomorrow. Best lap of the night was 4.3-something. Still have too much rotation, thinking about going back to the carbon chassis for less weight. I also want to go back to 98mm for the smaller bodies available. But I need a smaller motor, the Atomic 3500kv Sensored motor I have will not fit in the motor mount.

It looks like you have a lot of pre-load on your side springs. I have found that the side springs work like a roll bar and in doing so the stiffer the spring your run or the more preload you have will increase the rotation of the rear end. I played with this a bit and ended up running mine loose enough where at full deflection of the pod the spring is about 1mm short of making contact with the spring seat and adjusting collar. With that said I am running hard bodies and blue springs where I see you running a lexan body and green springs so not sure how that translate but it might be worth playing with that.
Cheers,
Jim

Welcome....
It is amazing how sensitive to temps these cars are.I was shocked at the difference in forward traction from 64* to 68*s. Spring is coming and learning to drive on a low traction surface will do nothing but make you better no matter how frustrating it is.
BTW, I believe you are currently on the podium in 2nd place in the Stock Class ;-)
Cheers,
Jim
