Unfortunately I don’t think they will be tall enough on 19mm rims which is what I mostly run.
I have used them on 19mm wheels with no shims under the knuckle. Perfect height honestly. But, you don't get many runs on them before they wear too small. I use 19mm front wheels on most of my cars besides kyosho stock class where I use 20mm because I use ASC wheels. 19mm should be permitted, as diameter is not officially restricted, but there is no drill for or against the wheel size. I currently have an R8 2015 setup as my kyosho stock car, so don't really have an issue with clearance with k30 low profile front and k20 rad rear.

the compound feels similar to the k30 radial after cut down, which is a little softer than the standard 30.

what I mean by traction changing over long run, is that they tend to gain traction really quick early in the run, and then the balance changes a little mid run to late. Sometimes reaction fades a little, sometimes it rises more than anticipated. With the standard 30, it comes up in the first minute, then kind of stays there. Probably because there is a little less traction overall, and you're always trying to work the car to generate traction. I feel that on high speed layouts, when the 30 works well, I prefer the old cut down with a little more aggressive front end. On a medium or small layout, I almost always prefer the low pro or radial cut down. The difference is VERY minor, and most wouldn't recognize it.

To me they feel closer to the k20 radial rubber. This is my first time trying them, but so far I like them. I'd like to try the 40 low profile slicks too!

Default Mini 96 World Challenge June Results

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Hello All,
Here are the June results for the M96WC. I have to say I was surprised how difficult it was to start putting down some fast laps going in the opposite direction and looking at the times I do not think I was the only one who took some time getting up to speed. With that said I did run both CW and CCW at the end and I was able to put down some fast laps in both directions so I am thinking this was helpful in getting the muscle memory working for both directions.

For June we had a couple new folks join us but we also lost a couple so the participation stayed about the same.

As far as participation there has been a lot of call to go to the smooth side and am thinking that might help out participation. I had not really planned to go to the smooth side until we had run all the tracks both CW and CCW on the rough side but I am wondering if we should switch and see what the change does for participation? Thoughts?

With that said here are the June results:

Box Stock-
2nd- Mattdaddy- 449.1s Race Time, 5.99s Average Lap, 5.1s Fast Lap
1st- LJH- 402.8s Race Time, 5.37s Average Lap, 5.08s Fast Lap

Stock-
2nd- Scionara- 429.4s Race Time, 5.74s Average Lap, 5.23s Fast Lap
1st- LJH- 392.8s Race Time, 5.24s Average Lap, 4.79s Fast Lap

Super Stock-
2nd- Zedtonien- 693.93s Race Time, 4.618 Fast Lap
1st- LJH-383.7s Race Time, 5.13s Average Lap, 4.79s Fast Lap

Open 2WD-
2nd- Zedtonien- 873.91s Race Time, 7.471s Fast Time
1st- Mattdaddy- 405.3s Race Time, 5.4s Average Lap, 4.2s Fast Lap

Open AWD-
3rd- Zedtonien- 813.36s Race Time, 6.201s Fast Lap
2nd- Mattdaddy- 530.4s Race Time, 7.07s Average Lap, 4.74s Fast Lap
1st- LJH- 382.3s Race Time, 5.10s Average Lap, 4.62s Fast Lap

Traveler put in some very fast times but he was running on the smooth side so not official times but I am guessing will be very much in contention when we are all running on the same side of the track.

It also sounds like we have at least one if not a couple new guys joining us for July.

Lastly, if I missed anyone or miss quoted a time please let me know and I will make the correction.

Cheers,
Jim

I’m just waiting for the new layout so I can start the practice. I didn’t get to run as much as I wanted due to vacation and then work when I got back so the sooner I get the layout changed the more chances I get to run. I have an Evo 12000 kv W I purchased last month and put a 5600kv motor in. Everything else is as it came. I’m running an Audi R8 with the wheels it came with. What class is this considered? If I put the original motor back in would it be considered box stock?

Hey All,
Sorry for being MIA, we just finished our fiscal year and I have been in excel hell getting my numbers together for the boss man......my brain feels mushy.

I did not hear back from any of you guys on the question in the latest results page about going to the smooth side. I am about 80% there on thinking we should try the smooth side and see if that get some more participants.....there have been a number of comment from people on the Facebook pages saying we should run on the smooth side however I am nervous that they are all talk and no action. what do you guys think? I know it is a pretty big time commitment to change over. I personally have a couple hours free tomorrow where I could do it but I would rather run then spend the time changing over but if we can get a few more players I think it would be worthwhile. Thoughts? I will put a post up on the FB pages asking if we were to change how many more folks would join us.

I like that track Scionare and I know it will fit in my location where some of the others are questionable. As soon as we make the surface decision I will put that as out July circuit.

MD,
Being that the car has a 5600kv motor put you into Pro-Stock.

Cheers,
Jim

The two most active one I have found are the "Mini-z 1:28 world community" and the "Mini-z world Group" .

I just posted the question there and will see what we get.

Hi,
Personnaly i would prefer rough side... there my points. i made this challenge to get better on driving and setting up the beast for the real competition that i take part during fall and winter time here. that local track only and always use rough side so i think that running and driving on smooth side for here would not be helpful for me.

thanks

Alright All, with The responses I received I do not get the feeling that we will get a bunch of new players if we go to the smooth side so we will stay on the rough side for the time being.

I say we go with this circuit and start running Clockwise.

I will post times I have but they wont be valid as I have the smooth side running. All the tracks near me run smooth side. (Rccw, brooklyn hobbies, and bruckner hobbies and hobby town run carpet)

I did 100-125 laps today on the new layout and just started to be able to do a very slow clean lap. .....it amazes me just how long it takes to get use to a new circuit. With that said I think this track will be fun once you are up to speed.

Cheers,
Jim
