Must have missed that time! I値l give it my best shot. The car and motor were dirty from the last big event, diff was crunchy and I was running too tall a gearing. Think I can do a lot better if I can get it rebuilt tonight.

I壇 like to know this as well because I have to get most of my runs in during the first two weeks of October. I may also try to run a third car this month. Thanks!

Default September Results

And that is a wrap on September. In September we had times submitted in every class which is a first and I believe we also had the highest number of times submitted overall which is great to see, hopefully this will get more drivers to compete.

September did see some changes, this was the first month that we have run on the smooth side. I will say that I personally had some issues with the change. At first my track was completely unforgiving and I was traction rolling every car I ran. I made a bunch of set up changes and changed my driving style a bit and towards the end of the month the track seemed to get more forgiving maybe?......or maybe it was just me getting use to the track. One thing that did surprise me is how much tire wear was reduced and how much cleaner the cars come off the track, this is a very nice benefit of the smooth side. I was also surprised how you can now hear the cars go over the track joints.

Just a bit of house keeping, if you guys could use the format that I use to show my times it would be great. Having the fastest time at the top of your class post makes it super easy for me, and other, to see what your fast time is in that particular class.

With that said here is how the month finished up:

Box Stock-
3rd-
Scionara-384.32s/4.56s
2nd- Traveler2- 355.71s/4.34s
1st- LJH- 355.1s/4.17s
I have to note here that Traveler was running a 90mm chassis so this his time is pretty darn impressive, nicely done.

Stock-
3rd-
LJH 343.3s/4.17s
2nd-Scionara 333.24s/4.0s
1st- Traveler2 328.68s/3.96s

Stock 86
1st- 376.3s/4.5s

Pro-Stock
1st-
LJH 332.9s/4.04s

2WD Open
1st-
LJH 322.1s/3.92s

4WD Open
1st-
Scionara 320.39s/3.87s

Fastest Lap
Scionara 3.87s

Default October Circuit

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hello All,
Here is the circuit for October, we are running CCW this month. I liked this circuit running CW so I am excited to see what we can doing going CCW, at first it always feels so weird to reverse direction but more times then not the times are faster running CCW.

Race Fast.....

I am excited for October but because of a bunch of work commitments I will not be running until the second half of the month.

I have made some changes to my fleet, My Box Stock car which was using a 458 body has been changed over to a McLaren F1 LM (Short tail). The F1 is a few grams lighter then the 458 and significantly narrower and a wee bit shorter, my thoughs are that I will have a bit more room to shave some distance off the track length and save a few precious 1/100s....the F1 also looks absolutely awesome. With the 458 being off my BS car I have decided to give it a go on my 2WD Mod car. The body weighs 10 grams less then my Mosler and I weighed it with the stock windows in it, last night I switched out to Lexan (Thanks Traveler and EMU). I have had to make one concession on the GLR with the 458 body and that was raising the rear ride height from the lowest setting to the middle to clear the body. I set up the 458 to sit really low so that it would sit ok on my Box stock car. If I find the 458 to my liking I may very well pull the body clips out and raise them a bit.

Cheers,
Jim

Thanks for overseeing this challenge Jim! I had fun in September and look forward to seeing how my lap times compare running ccw in October (I also like not having to reconfigure the layout every month), which is why I plan to run the same cars and setups in the same classes for comparability. I think I知 more comfortable running counter clockwise, so I should be faster in October, but the results will be the judge. I also plan to add a third class, likely Pro Stock, if I can get something with a more powerful motor to hook up and handle on this little layout.

My work commitments are in the second half of the month, so I値l be doing most of my running the first two weeks!

Happy October and happy birthday to me!

Cheers!

I'll be sitting this month out and focused more on my xbox. I hate going ccw and a new character is coming out for a game and I'll need to practice with him to find weakness and strengths of him the character I mean

Sorry to hear that! I know you prefer clockwise, but I think Jim's plan of alternating CW and CCW is good to see if some are faster one way or the other. It also balances things out for people with different preferences, and I think should help make us all better drivers. Maybe you should give CCW a few tries...

I personally think racing in both direction helps your skill level immensely . Back when I was competing in RC sailplanes I would practice circling in both directions, I hated going CW but the more I practiced the better I got and being able to go both ways payed off big time when trying to hook up in a thermal only a few feet of the ground.

I also get a large amount of satisfaction starting off and not being able to do a single clean lap and then progressing day by day and by the end being able to bang out good laps.

Cheers,
Jim

The race results should include this. In stock, I ran a 10/54 PN 64p.

I get that but if a layout isnt designed to go both ways and dosnt flow right I cant get it. The first 2 layouts were good because they flowed both ways. This layout is more brakes than anything ccw. Also with me being competitive in Nrs fighting games and the terminator dropping this month I'll be busy learning that with the difference in setups for variations there are.

After all of the full scale Auto-X I have done I personally do not believe that a track "does not flow right" they just flow differently. I actually think this circuit is going to be fun being run CCW . Getting the line correct through turns 3/4/5/6 will be tricky but getting it right will mean a higher entry speed into the main straight and made or break your lap time.

Cheers,
Jim
