Man I have been trying to get my CCW driving better, and I had my McLaren 12C dialed in and was normally turning 3.8 second laps with a 3.5 fast lap. BUT we FINALLY had a front come through with rain and much needed heat break, which is AWESOME, but now my car is traction rolling and has become way too snappy and running normal 4.2 second laps. I have a PN carbon #4 TPlate, Green bottom/Gold top springs on the PN DDS on PN Multi Mount motor pod. PN Dual top shock both green springs, on+2 BBS wheels & PN KS-M soft radials. The front end has PN Low Down knuckles on flipped king pins shimmed w/0.9 above &0.7 below with PN White springs on +1 BBS wheels & PN KS-M low height Medium slicks.10/53 gearing on PN Gear Diff. with a ride height of: front-2.0mm/rear-2.5mm.
I'm going to try to improve the handling but not much time left this month! Any ideas??? softer/harder t plate, front springs, tire change?
Thanks and Drive Fast! Drew

Well my luck is running about normal! I was working on my 12C, and I switched to a #5 carbon T plate and lowered the knuckles by 1-0.2mm shim, and it was getting much better, then when going through the 180 I lost forward power and heard a tiny pop! I still have reverse, so I switched the motor wires, and the motor is good. So I pulled the circuit board and checked it under a magnified glass and see no burned traces or popped circuitry, but it stinks like the MANY AMPS I have replaced in others car audio systems! My Son has my Multi-meter, so I can't check anything specific on the board. It's my first Mini-z and a year and 2 months old, so out of warranty.
So I guess I'll be ordering 2 EVO boards, 1 for my 2.5 build and the other to replace the now fried RTR board! So I guess I'll need and EVO Top plate set to switch from a RTR to EVO board as the chassis is the same, correct?
Thanks for any help! Drew
update: I could only find 1 evo board, so I ordered it. As of the RTR board, I had run less than 20 laps when this happened. every thing was still cool, and even after running 100 laps it never got above lip warm the whole time I've owned it.

Chassis-MR-030
Body- Enzo
Wheelbase-98mm
Rear Marka 5

Only had my track out two times this month so did not really get this layout down. This was my only box stock run so probably could have shaved a lot of time with a few more box stock runs.

My 98mm being out, I ran my 90mm Narrow MX-5, and while I'm getting better CCW this layout was a hand full with the 90mm! FUN but the ping-pong effect of the walls is really noticeable at 90mm!
Class- 86/90mm Narrow
Date-08/31/2023
Location- Central Texas
Race Time- 5:54.810 minutes/ 354.810 seconds
Fastest Lap- 3.960 seconds
Chassis- MR-03
Body- Mazda MX-5
Wheelbase- 90mm
Tires- F- N19mm 0mm PN White dish- Kyosho low height medium / R- N20mm 0mm PN White Dish - PN KS-M Soft
Motor- PN 70T Ball Bearing
Batteries- Eneloop 800hv
Front Springs- Green
T-Plate- Nexx #5 Carbon
Motor Mount- Nexx 90/94mm RM
Dampener (If applicable)- PN DDS Gold top/Green bottom springs
Dampener Fluid (If applicable)- Dry
Gearing- 64pitch 13t pinion/51t spur PN Gear diff
Notes- Got a Nexx 90/94mm RM motor pod, and I had to go to 20mm rear rims and standard height tires and #2 axle holders with ride height at highest position to have enough clearance for the PN 70T! But I have no traction rolling issues, so the Nexx RM Pod is a huge improvment over the factory RM pod. Though I wish PN still had a 90mm pod as their fit and finish is better, at least with the few items I have compared. There's quite a bit of slop between the axle bushings and the mount, causing gap issues between the spur and pinion. It's a FUN car to drive and teaches me to be smoother with my inputs! Also I went to a carbon front body clip, and a PN CP334 (Toyota GT-One TS020) is the closest I could find. It is just a hair too short, and too thick, but I filed the front lip down to fit the MX-5. I'll post pics if anyone wants. No traction rolling but I had a few +10 second laps from hitting the inside corner off the straight and rolling and landing on the lid!
