you don't. some people prefer the feel of a double over a single. personally I like a single because of the snap.

I jump on the r/c band wangon in Oct 08. I have a T/C and a HPI Sprint 2 Flux. Well both of my cars are FULLY UPGRADED. And I'm using the HPI to drift. Can you help??

What are the set-ups that drifter use??
Brush/Brushless? brushless but no lower turn than 6T brushless it is too much power,(mainly used for the faster response and e-brake feature.
ESC? the esc that is made for the brushless motor
Ball/Gears Diff? this is HIGHLY debated. the most poupular options are:
ball up front, ball in the rear;
solid rear, ball front;
ball front, solid rear;
one way front, solid rear
one way front, ball rear.
front one ways are a love/hate type of thing. on a VERY tight course, they can be beneficial. but 98% you wont use it. primarily if there is ANY flaw in your suspension setup, the ball diff will magnify it.
i personally run a ball up front and solid rear with a center one way.
Springs? medium or soft wth soft oil (i run titanium medium yokomo springs, with 35wt oil.) this gives great traction on all surfaces when softer springs will grip too much on a perfectly smooth surface.
biggest mod that made the best benefit to me was the tires. even with friction dampers, stock springs the t-drifts had me sliding with more control.

T-Drifts are not solid tire so lifespan is shorter ... also its also more expensive here, about 300 more than the driftech. the license makes it more expensive but it sure looks pretty!

Hello guys. I need few basic tips about drifting at all.
I have HPI super RS4 electric with ESC Novak TC2 and trinity 13x3 motor.
I have several options for gear ratio, but mainly use 81 spur/27 pinion.
My questions are the following. Please give me advice, because I never tried drifting before. Tires will be customised, because I havent seen drift tires, with that size. (35x72mm)
1. I can choose from 280mm or 300mm wheelbase - which one is better for drifting?
2. Should I lock front/rear differentials?
3. Should I remove the front belt so it becomes only rear wheeldrive?
4. Should I watch for any center of weight - more heavier rear or front?
5. Will be very happy to receive any additional tips.

this is the one thing i have never tried. i woudl assume longer wheel bases give better sliding but shorter gives better control.

by lock i assume your kit comes with ball diffs. i prefer ball up front and solid(locked) rears.
3. Should I remove the front belt so it becomes only rear wheeldrive?
big time no-no. you do it, you will have no control at all.
4. Should I watch for any center of weight - more heavier rear or front?
rear weigh allows the rear to stay planted and slide less. weight up front gives more nose dive and allows the rear to lift more causing more sliding.
on a course with alot of sharp turns, i put about 30 grams up front. on long courses i only use 10 up front.
5. Will be very happy to receive any additional tips.
brushless was the best mod any drifter can do...
