As you well know, there is now a magazine for RC Drifters. Many of you purchased Issues #1 and #2 and have been quite happy with it. I know I was.

Issue #3 is having a difficult time getting to the press because of the economic downturn. Many companies have cut back their marketing and pulled their full page ads - leaving Drift RC Magazine in a limbo. We will try to get more cash to send this issue to the press. In the mean time, there are still copies of Issues #1 and #2. If you haven't done so, go out and buy a copy of #1 and #2 and help get #3 out to press!!! If there were ever a time to support rc drifting, now is the time to do it!!!

Go buy a copy at http://www.driftrczine.com/

Drift RC Magazine by RC Drifters for RC Drifters!!!

Default Drifters in Houston??

Hello drifters from rctech:

As I moved from MD to Houston, I lost my drifting pals.

This is a video from my old drifting buddies:

I wonder if there's any drifters in the Houston area? Please come out with Larry's hobby on Saturday nights for some practice when the weather gets warmer!

Here is a video of myself, drifting my trans am race car. Not setup for drifting; ball diffs front and back with HPI vantage rubbers~

Hey all,
just about to get into driftin again. i had a TT01D a while ago but only drifted a few times as no one else i knew had drifters. three of my mates now have them, so time for a new one

I am looking at getting the HPI Sprint 2 Drift from tower hobbies for $134 without electrics. is this a good start car? i dont want another TT01D cause i found there was lots of play in steering and was a bit cheaply built. the Sprint 2 looks stronger and has a few alloy parts, also i think belt drive will be better....

Any ideas/opinions? is there a better car to get for the same price?

Also, what brand tires/wheels are people using mostly? i will be drifting on mainly tarmac but also some concrete...

thanks for any help.
Alex

sprint2 would be a good base for a drifter since there are tons of aftermarket support and users. wheels and tires are your choice depending on the body you will be using since you will also want to look good while drifting. do a little more research at the other driftsites.

HB Cyclone S and Tamiya TA05/TB03 could also be considered.

I just got a Cyclone S. Its a GREAT drifter.

TA05 seem to have some issues with small rocks/grit destroying gears (I had to sell both of mine because of this). No problems indoors but both of my TA05's were like vacuum cleaners on the local outdoor track.

Are there any drifters in the Del-Mar-Va area that would want to get together for a meet? my track director said he wouldnt have a problem with it if we got some people together, maybe promote the track etc

ALSO most importantly, what is the most common tire used these days? i still use ABS that i route the edges to be round. are the hard rubber compounds really better?
