Take a look to the transmission.
Good catch! But I think you meant Differential, not transmission. But yes, it looks different, the pulley looks centered in the rear uprights. Almost like a ball diff instead of the gear diff???

:-).I meant differential and center pulley, yes. The two belts are on the same side. Like the Yokomo BD8.

Rear diff is the same it seems but the motor mount and servo mount have to be different since the belt runs down the center. also means there will be a new spool and frt diff.

I believe the diff is new because the pulley seems centered and yes the spool also should be centered and new.

What parts are needed for the battery hold down?

I could be wrong, but think this is something 1Up racing is working on.

We see a new center pulley and a new upper deck and also different ball cups (hopefully we get this) but we can conclude out of this: new chassi, new front spool, new motormount, new servomount (or moved sideways)

hopefully the batteriemount comes to

From RH on Facebook:
"The differential is new. The front pulley is centered and the rear is offset but offset a different amount than the 7.1. Therefore the diff is not interchangeable with the 7.1."
"New = chassis, top deck, foam bumper, battery retaining system, servo mount, motor mount, bearing caps, and shock towers. It will likely be too many items to make converting a 7.1 economically feasible."
"I forgot to add that the anti roll bar mount will be different."

yep, but as I said before, at lease all the plastics are the same. For that, I thank Associated.

Changing all the plastics costs a lot of money, and as far as I know isn't needed. I do agree that it should be called a TC8 with that amount of changes. As far as I know the changes from the TC7 to the TC7.1 was just shocks and shock towers, the other parts were just optional upgrades that should of been on the car in the first place.

The suspension plastics are hands down the best I've ever used, so I'd have been annoyed if they had been changed!

I think making the jump to TC8 could have been justified, I said the same thing when I heard the scope of change, but hey, a name isn't super important.

I use the short one from this, https://www.teamassociated.com/parts...ate_standoffs/ especially if you use the Reedy 8200mah SG but you can use #8642 and some shims for the 6000 SG. The actual battery mount in the pics is pure prototype, itll be slightly different by production and not a 1up part.

The numbering system they use does not really seem to indicate small or large changes. The Name Tc7.2 keeps more impoverished RC racers who still suffer with the TC7 ( like me ) from feeling more left behind . Tc8 would be a better Name / Number.
