I am really looking forward to trying out this chassis. There are just a few hiccups, but then again I'm a little bit of a perfectionist (or I try to be ) when it comes to these builds.
I am super impressed how free the axle rolls on the bearings. I could never get it spin like this when I first built my YRF 001 or R12 kits.
Then again, not all kits are perfect.

Im not sure whats causing this but I dont remember it having this much play nor am I expecting this amount of play. Unless I come across a singular for F1, I dont think I will be shelling out money for a set of 4 just to replace the existing one.

When you mean excessive play are you referring to side to side play when fully extended? Could simply mean you need to replace the Orings and shock guide bushing. What I've found to work really well with VBC and other manufacture shocks is to use lots of Green Slime on the orings. Don't be stingy with it.
As for the through body shock, I built one today and it was a pain to build. But I took the time and through trial and error I found a really sweet method on how to build the shock. This shock is very smooth and consistent. Neat little design I might add.
I'll post a video on how I built it with zero rebound.

Hi guys,
I am currently running VBC Flash 04 and I am very satisfied. i would like to jump into the new generation and I am looking between the common X1'16 or the VBC FX.
Is there any compatibility parts list between Flash 04 and FX (i have a big stock of spare parts !)

I had to steal some parts off of my Yokomo to build the front end but everything else seemed fine. In my rush to try it out, I never set the camber or toe on the front and never adjusted the tweak. With a fresh set of Sweep Mediums mounted up all the way around the car took a few laps to settle in. After that, it was by far the best handling F1 car I've seen at our local track. It turned in well and didn't try to swap ends. The only issue I really had was under braking as my brakes were set to 100%. After dialing them back a bit I'd say the car is easy to drive fast and am looking forward to getting to race it.
