The VBC Lightning FX is my 3rd F1 (Tamiya F104 pro/StreetJam SJF01) and I'm glad to have switched brands. I can drive the Lightning FX with more confidence and it has way more corner speed than the last 2 cars. I was a bit worried at first since my SJF01 was a great working car. The car is solid and the only things I have broken are the side links after some heavy crashes (who put that dot there!?!?!?!)

here is my setup
the caster spacers are the 8deg setting two small spacers on the rear of the arm pin
the reactive caster is stock
there is around 45 grams under the bellcrank steering
there is 7 on each side of the chassis in front of the battery and 10 grams centered under the rear axle
notes for tuning the differential
if your diff is too loose you will notice while cornering that you are lagging power on corner exit or you might hear your car diffing out ( an audible whining noise) if your diff is too tight then your car will hook and spin when exiting the corner
i have stacked differential washers like so ()( to allow more pressure on the diff platesjji
if you slap the boards you will seize the 5x11 bearing in the differential
this will produce a locked rear axle feeling
i reccomend using the tamiya f104 thrust bearing to prevent this from happening as it is very frustrating when it happens
i hope this helps, if you have any further questions please dont hesitate to ask or message me on facebook enjoy

Yes that is true. But if your not running one.. Plus links are cheap. I have felt that I have only broken one when I really deserved it. If you have too much pod droop this can also contribute to broken links in a forward crash.
