That's the one. As I said, the 911 GT1 from around 1998.

I was actually at Road Atlanta when this happened in 1998.

Maybe it's me, but that HPI body bears little resemblance to the car in the video. Am I missing something?

The HPI body is the 1996 GT1.

1997 - 911 GT1 Evo

1998 - 911 GT1-98 The famous backflip car.

1999 - Gunnar G-99 is an interesting read about the open top car.

OK, if anyone doubts the validity of this class just look at the Indoor Champs run this past weekend. Nearly 40 entries in a throw in class at the last minute. Only about a lap and a half difference between Tq Tom Firshing and the middle of the "B". On top of that everyone had fun.

One thing to think about when racing these cars indoors. The front tires catch the flappers or whatever corner barrier and bring the car to a halt. When they do they really punish the servo and servo saver. Just something to think about when you are selecting those parts.

Want a second class to run onroad besides TC 17.5 and was about to pull the trigger on an F1 car, but my heart talked me out of the F1 class. Even though F1 is extremely popular here in CA, there are a handful of WGT guys around that seem to come out and participate. Ive never ran pan car before and will need tons of advice.....

Chassis recommendations.
Tire options (i know someone with a foam tire cutter, but how to determine diameter).

This isn't a foam tire class thread. This is for WGT-R, which is limited to either the TCS or CRC rubber tires.

Am I supposed to glue the ends of the rear tire insert together or just place them into the rear tire as is?
