Hi guys

Currently I run my 419 with rc racer low profile towers on standard 419 shocks using xray 20mm springs.

Would the short shocks from a 419x fit my setup? And if they will would I benefit from them over my standard 419 shocks?

Hi,

I didnt test below version when i had 419 but i used mini damper for my 419 instead of regular and worked the car better vs kit setting. 419x dampers are great imo, use with xray springs as a first try. (2.5-2.8 and 2.6 rear). I strongly recommend to go for 419x if you can afford it and stop using (stock or higher class) , huge difference in performance and joy to drive the x or ws one !

Best,
Marton

What effect does moving/flipping the inner triangle on the camber link?

I get it will effect how the wheel gains reaction but what will I feel?

Hi Guys,

I havent posted anything after Mibo race. The reason is very simple. The car was great on Friday but on Saturday it was not that „outstanding” including the driver.
Basically I have found a very good setup on Friday but I still wanted to improve the car which unfortunately didnt happen. As a result I mismanaged Q-s on Saturday and after Q1-Q2 with overall position A5 (1.5 second lead over 6th) I still risked a lot to achieve better performance for Q3. Obvious I went to wront direction...finally other guys got quicker and ended up in A8 out of 38 drivers, which I would accept as a great performance before the race but not after Friday practice (I was in TOP3 after free practice). For the finals I went back to Friday’s final setup but was not able to improve a lot, had positions of 5-6-6, overall A7.
I know what setup misstakes I did, so hopefully I wont repeat it. Still I need to improve a bit the car (slighlty oversteering on power was my „main” challange and lost punch after 3 minutes).

I have in my mind what other to test, hopefully positive outcome will come in December. Feel free to add comments based on attached setup. "What would you try" to calmn the front of the car a bit.

This weekend result:
There was the Hungarian champ 2nd round at PlayIT, which was a big event in Budapest (thousands of visitors). As part of one round of onroad championship was organized. Different classes, overall 86 entries in onroad class.
It is a grey carpet – like we use in Hungary – only onroad cars, no practice day on Friday. 2 hours of free practice in Saturday, 3 qualify and 3 final... so not much to test  and traction was getting higher and higher, track was quick and tight (12.5-13 second / lap).

There were two stock categories (only motor is different), so I wanted to go both. However I forget to bring my alloy car... so I had to replace the motor after each run in my last year carbon car. Orion motor had more „punch” vs MuchMore motor, as a result a bit of different setting would have been needed, which I didnt have time to adjust (30 minutes gap between the races).
With MuchMore motor I TQ-d and won. It was a great race, with tight fights for TQ and P1. Overall I had approx 1second lead over others, not being the quickest on one lap (0.05 slower). Recent master category (+40years) ETS champion from Vienna (R1) was kept behind :-). I tested different roll center, gear diff in front (2mio), different body and ended up with attached setup, with only difference front suspension was 05G-05G.
With Orion motor I was struggling a lot. I was very quick on one lap but not stable overall the 5 minutes (same car settings). So I changed front settings for the 2nd final (05G-05E) – this time I already had 2 wins with MuchMore motor- (started from P5) and achieved P1 immediately, I had some luck of course but car become excellent. 3rd main I got hit in first lap and resigned from the race...was pissed off since I could battle for P1-P3 easily in this class as well. Anyway next time I will bring both of my cars or simple racing in one category since it was too much.

Overall 419x is still an excellent car, the more I drive it the more experience I have. I still love it. Main focus for coming months to be A1-A5 in international race like Mibo or XRS. Let’s see :-)!

Attached my setups feel free to comment your „feeling” or advise.

Best,
Marton

Just ordered. Very curious about the R-kit.
Thought, it would be available end of January. But this is good news now.

So where can I find the aluminum chassis? Why is it so hard to find?

I've heard that Tamiya USA isn't bringing it in. I think there are a few German shops that have it available but I'm not 100% sure which ones are.

Default TRF419XR conversion set

Got it in the mail today. Lots of new parts!

Drilling shock caps to achieve zero rebound is now official! No problems with Tamiya official racings now anymore.

Surprised that there is an extra cooling fan attachment post included. Nice detail!
