I thought I would mention that I was able to use these tires for the first time last weekend (2 stage Sedan), and found them to be absolutley awesome. They're certainly faster, allow the car to remain flatter while running a taller tire, and definitely have more bite.
A great set of tires, and I'm happy to hear that the Nats will now allow them.

Some quick questions for everyone now that it's time to stock up for Cleveland (luckily I waited a bit)...
Has anyone found an optimum starting size for the 2 stage tires in both stock classes? Also, are most people running the dbl pinks & dbl pinks/org for sedan? I'm gonna guess that the purple wraps with whatever non-wraps works best on the rears is the way to go for 1/12th.
All the questions are geared towards Cleveland. Yep, I'm being lazy, but there is also no real place to test on highbite tracks in my area...

kklemmo - I think 56.5mm is the optimal size, when running these tires you need to watch the diameter, once they get below 55.8-55.9mm they are done. Below this size there is not enough tire left and your car will be a bit of a handful. Hope this helps.

I dont agree with you, i have ran jaco tires since i have started RC carpet, and the size that i notice the tires to hit the "sweet spot" is 59mm
then they just get better from there!

Alex_kipper - Running tires at a larger diameter such as 58-59mm is ok if the track you are running on is low bite such as club race. With a larger tire your car will generate more steering, however on a high bite track or at a big race such as Cleveland, Snowbirds, I.I.C., ect. running your tires at that diameter will make your car hard to drive, it will oversteer, roll too much, and most likley traction roll. Also when running tires this big they are more prone to chunking. At big races you need to run the tires smaller, with standard tires I start them at 56mm and you can run them down to 54.8-55mm, with the 2 stage tires they need to be run a bit bigger 56.5-57mm. This might seem really small but you need to remember that the more grip there is the less the tires wear, and vice versa. This is my opinion from my experiences, I think most will tend to agree with it. However, you need to do what you feel works best for you. L8...

yeah i agree, 1 thing i missed out, is the smaller the tires started to become, the better my car began to feel... since the tires started to get smaller

I have heard some talk about 2 stage foam tires. Are thay talking about tires such as purple/orange or is the foam a different compound the smaller the tire gets
