Well put Jack. I'm glad they were approved and that we can put all the "cloak and dagger" arguments to rest. Now we can all get on to the real issue for the Champs........ Why can't we run IP3800's?

Why would you want to run them? They don't perform on the track as well as they look on the TM-35....

Only company I know matching them is pole position....

I wouldn't, but since the Wraps are now legal, the only thing the pre-Indoor Champs crybabies have to cry about now is IP cells. I didn't want them to forget they still have something to p!$$ and moan about.

Hey Andrew,

What kind of performance gain in terms of lap times are you seeing with the stage two compared to the originals?

Default tire size

Jack,
What size do you reccommend starting the 12th scale 2 stage tires at? Let me know.

Thanks,
Robert

Martin - The 2stage tires make your car easier to drive, more stable, and you gain a bit of corner speed. Every time I have run them back to back compared to regular tires my fastest lap is .1-.2 tenths faster and on average they are a tenth per lap faster.

On another note, at the Halloween Classic this past weekend, all of the touring a-mains, stock, 19t, and mod were won using 2 stage tires. Mark Adams won 1/12th mod with them as well.

with the 2 stage 1/12 tyres, what's the minimum size you can run the tyres to? i.e. when do you have to throw the tires/wheels to the bin?

I ran my tires down to about 2.18 this past weekend but there was not much left of the outter band. But boy were they fast. I started them at around 2.24 and practiced a few times and raced them a few times. Used 4 sets of tires for all my practice and races and mains for stock and 19 turn sedan. And 2 sets can still be used for racing for a while!!

Thanks Jaco for an awesome tire!!

For 1/12th tires you can run the front down to 41.5mm and the rears to 44.5mm, mabey a touch smaller.

Front 41.5mm? that's almost down to the wheel?

i don't know how thick each layer is, but i would guess the inside layer's outside diameter is larger than 41.5mm? So does that mean i can run it pass the outer layer ? or am i wrong?

Thanks
