Bryan,
The gtb in the fttc4 is a tight fit. You are most likely going to have to put your reciever on top of the servo unless you are really creative. Shortening the wires is easy...just remember which wire went to which tab.
On a side note: Does this mean that you guys are cutting out the 10 turn limit rule at the magic city race? I might have to think about coming back up there.

Yeah we are with ROAR rules and 10 turn limit in touring is gone. We can also run brushless with mod so alot of the guys are switching to overall save time and money.
Thanks for the tips Chris and vadn1

Thanks for the look
Here's my BMITC4,
It looks like a syn. novak receiver, correct? Are you still able to change freq.s when you have to without pulling it out? Also is it mounted with servo tape?
Thanks so much, but one more quest. was it much to shorten the wires, they say do not heat up the wire board to much, so do you use a pretty hot iron?
Thanks so much for the help.

Jsaves,
Yes, it' a novak receiverwith servo tape, yes I can still change freq.s.The side that I have up is were you change your freq.s.
A hot iron helps. If you do not have one maybe someone at you LHS or track will. It a quick job, I'm srue they wouldn't mind helping you out.

It was starting to push really bad when I noticed one of the fronts has worn through the carcass and the foam insert went missing. I wondered what that little poof was when I was doing 45.

I ran my RDX (with its new GTB and 5800) during a 5 hour practice session last night, and along with the Spektrum, it's the best "new" thing I've tried in recent memory. The 5800 felt pretty insanely powerful compared to the 19T I'm used to. It was flawless for 10 packs with very little time between packs. The motor was barely warm to the touch and the speed control was cool. The thing would rip so hard when I hit the throttle that it kind of startled me. And, unlike my brushed motors, it had that "rip" for the entire pack, and not just the first minute.
So, down with brushed motors. May they rest in the history books where they belong*.
* I'm sure there's some practical application for them somewhere. Sort of like DJ's with turntables, audiophiles with tube amps and virgins with Betamax.

I ran my GTB with velocity 5.5 last weekend for the first time. Raced in out tracks open mod class so anythnig goes, lopos, foam tires anything. Two other guys there also had their GTB amd 5.5's out for the first time, all 3 of us had 4 races each with no problems at all. And this motor was so much faster than the 2 sphere/neo setups.
Great job to novak on this one.

Got the 5.5R in last night. I shorten the wires with not too much sweat.
I do not know how you could get the novak syn. receiver in and still be able to change both freq. dials. I could not see how.
Looking forward to trying the hot rod out this Sunday.
