Is bottom fit on TT-02R type with stock arms ?

IndyRC_Racer 04-03-2023 02:32 PM

Tamiya 54965 TT-02 RCType-S Alum Steering Set (Long Tie-Rod) (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...-steering-set/) is designed for the S type kits

Tamiya 54752 RC Steering Upgrade Parts (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...upgrade-parts/) can be used on ANY of the TT-02 on-road kits

I have both of the Tamiya aluminum steering upgrades on my TT-02 S kits. I feel the long tie rod set has less bump steer. Ackerman is also easier to adjust. Here is a decent review of 54965 the The RC Racer website...https://www.thercracer.com/2020/10/5...-aluminum.html

One thing that I would recommend is that if you use Tamiya 54752 is that you use a 3x23mm screw (inserted from the bottom of the chassis) and a thin locking nut to attach the steering posts to the chassis. You can see this being done on page 14 of the TT-02sr manual. The long step screw that acts as a steering post on the basic TT02 can get ripped out of the chassis in a big collision. While this isn't a big deal if you are using a stock chassis, it can be very difficult to replace one of the colored chassis (red, white, or blue) and it can also be hard to get a carbon reinforced plastic chassis at times.

Here is a link to the Tamiya manual download page (check page 14 on the TT02sr manual)...https://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/manuals.htm
Here is a link to the TT02sr kit on Tamiyausa. (check out the pictures that show the steering)...https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/110-4...r-chassis-kit/

I hope this information helps.

----------

There are plenty of aftermarket companies that make aluminum steering racks for the TT-02 that are similar to the Tamiya 54752. The Yeah Racing kit gets good reviews and is less expensive. There are also aftermarket companies that make steering racks for the TT-02 that offer extreme ackerman angles which is good for drifting.

Here are some other options to upgrade the steering components on all TT-02 kits. For TCS racing, always check the class rules to see which Tamiya upgrades are allowed.

- Tamiya 54574 aluminum steering parts (bridge not included) (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...ing-steering//)
- Tamiya 54575 aluminum steering bridge only. (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...eering-bridge/)
- Tamiya 54754 complete steering upgrade with servo saver (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...upgrade-parts/)
- Tamiya 54799 TT-02 Hi-Torque servo saver with aluminum horn (https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/optio...e-servo-saver/)

Thanks for all information but just want to know if 54965 (long tie rod) could fit on TT-02R without chassis modification ?
If yes, it's better than old 54752.
No problem for the belgian rules, just can't use type S arms and carbon parts

if you are racing TCS ,.the top picture is the TCS legal for TT02R.or RR .
The bottom picture option part is for TT02S only
the bottom pic has the better turning setting for the ackerman set .which is better for track grip condition .top picture is more for stock spec

Also the new steering may not work with the standard TT02 suspension. The S has longer arms and different steering knuckles.

Stick with the standard version.

yes .it has being done . but you may have to used TT02S set up steering rod
there is a person who's running the kit TT02 and he is swapping back and forth with those two steering option hop up
If you look at the TT02SRX steering ,is the same as the stock TT02

I'm buying the 911 TT02, and want to upgrade to brushless, can anyone recommend a motor/esc and battery combo that looks nice on the chassis and fits well? I'm also looking for advice on which transmitter/receiver/servo to use. I want to try to maintain a clean/stock look.

Radio: FlySky Noble 4, comes with 2 receivers and you can later use it for more cars. $200

Servo: I like Futaba but this is good and inexpensive as wel

RC Digital Servo, SPT4412LV 12KG Digital Servo Metal Gear Fit for RC Car Upgrade Part https://a.co/d/hvVN0uN

ESC:

prepandemic the car would have come with ESC that works with brushed / brushless.. but due to chip issues, current kits come with HObbyWing 1060 brushed.

Hobbywing 10bl60 .. it’s the brushless version of what comes with the TT02 kit..

https://www.amainhobbies.com/hobbywi...108000/p713260

Motor: take a look in used section here and see if you can find a 17.5 brushless for $50. There should be plenty.

What year did Tamiya release the Very first TT02 and also TT01 ?

What was the first Bodies they release them with ?

Also, what was the model Tamiya had Before the TT01

And what was the Competition brands and models that time with similiar cars ?

Are both Models still in Produktion? After all these years

Then a last question.
Is TT01 or TT02 the most sold TC Car ever in world today totally ?

Nice.

i use secure browser, that does not allow google, because google spy on you.
Downside is you find only about 20% with the secure search that is build in.
The good thing is you can sleep well if you are Paranoid like me.

So the TT-01 is released 2003 ? i did buy mine first 2004-2005. And i did not like it all. Very Toyish compared to my Schumacher MI2,
I did believe TT01 it was alot older like year 1993-1994
Hmmmm

So it is 20years old chassis today. It is released mars 25 2003 ? 100% ?

And then TT-02 Chassis release date: 22 May 2013
hmmm this feels so old too, it is just less than 10years ago they release this?
I was almost sure it was from 1996-1997 LOL, and the TT-01 1993-1994

Are these release dates real ? I feel these are much older than 2003 and 2013.
Both did feel and look so old when i did buy them. Brand new, so i did buy them both about 1year after release, and i was shure they both was like 10year old models already then. LOL.

I remember my first Schumacher Mi2 1:10th 4WD Touring Car back to 2004, that was full carbon, and all Hex screws, a professional car compared to the Toy.ish Tamiyas that had Philips screws.
And they both was so bad from box, handling , gears, everything was toy grade. They both needed alot hop ups. Ending more expensive than Schumachers, and still alot worse :)
2013 i had the Mi5.
Serpent, Mugen , Xray did nice cars too that time.
Happy days back then.

Not sure what information or direction you are going with this line of conversation.
Did you have a point? Do you need some assistance with TT02 setup?
This is a TT02 forum.... just trying to keep relevant and helpful in that direction..
