edit: the "X" block for the evoIV does NOT come with spacers. only the MS series "X" blocks come with spacers (1XA, 1XB, 1XC, 1XD)

I have tried 100/23 on a 64 pitch , my temp gauge say that it was 150 Farenheit, someone on the thread here said I could go up to 27, I would try it this weekend and see. But I guess 150 is hot already although my car was not really that fast. recommendations from any PRO or Factory driver?

remember it's Spur/PinionX2.25=Overall Ratio
To add to it, this is just a starting point... The way to fine tune to your track (at least the way we do by me) is to set the car so that you top out about 3/4's down the straight. Which is usually 1 tooth up or down from the above. good luck, and hopefully someone else can chime in with better info on the 05.

Set up needed for outdoor medium grip / not so flat track
Hi,
Going to put on a race track my new TA05 with a 17T motor this weekend.
I need some hint for the set up:
- The ground level setting via the 3x12 screw in the suspension arm ... is something that is normaly used ... or should I just play with springs adjustament like the TB01 setting ? ... this sound to me to limite the down travel, and have already a "higher" initial resitance before allow the suspension travel ...
- Stock oil and number of hoel in the piston.
I"m currently set up 1 hole in the front, and two hole in the rear ... this in theory should allow more grip on the rear ... so a more easy undestearing set up .... is my assumption correct ?
- Stabilizer .... in a bumpy tracks ... does make sense to use stabilizer ... if yes just on the fron or just on the rear ... or on both ?
A part from using 2 hole in the rear piston, the TA05 is set up 100% as tamiya manual.
Here people drive with quite soft suspension cars, with a final gear sometime close to 5 (around 5.5) with a 17T motor ... gotta use my 26T pinion, since is the biggest 0.6 pinion that I have ... and still I will have less top speed then competition ..
Thanks

PS: Going to use CS27 tyres. (opt. CS22 if it is cold, or I don't have enough grip)

OK, I used 40wt oil in the TRF shocks with one hole all round, this left the car feeling quite nice amount of grip (but I was using racing slicks not the kit tyres).
As for the suspension, set the spring collars so you have 5.5mm front and 6mm rear ride height, the adjust the threaded screws in the wishbones so the car lifts an extra 1mm front and the same rear, also, make sure the settings are the same left to right.
If you then want more grip on the rear off-throttle, you can give the rear a little more suspension travel (droop).

What is the main effect on using 2 hole piston with 40wt stock oil ?
2 hole should be more soft & fast ... so more grip ... isn't goot for the rear ?
