I have gone through a few of those myself. The only thing I could find to help solve the problem was try not to hit stuff, have a few few spares in my box, and check it before my next runs to ensure it wasnt already broke before a run.

I've also managed to break a servo saver, and what was more ironic is that my dad did exactly the same thing, at the same meeting with his Pro 4. The threads do seem really thin, but I've only ever broken 1 of them.

A tip if you do break them. Take the spring out of the servo saver and try to thread the collar back on. This will just lock the servo saver up, so it will get you running, just without a servo saver.

I've just been thinking, do you guys accross the pond run on permanent tracks (whether they be indoor or outdoor)?

The only tracks i run at (at the moment, considering its piss wet through outside) are temporary indoor tracks, laid down before the meeting and ripped up after. So the track markers aren't as solid hence being much more forigiving.

But if your tracks are a lot more solid maybe the servo saver isn't giving enough and it is braking (which part is breaking exactly? the plastic 'arm'?)

Maybe someone will make a full alluminium servo saver.

Not sure about anyone else, but I broke the bottom of the threads on the purple aluminium part of the servo saver, where the collar threads on.

Yup that's where both of mine broke also. I am also running the Surikarn edition blue one, good luck on finding one of those. That was the first one I broke the other was the purple one. And yes mine broke at the threads also flush with the bearing. If you notice the threaded post is larger after the bearing and it never seems to break there.

hi
i'm reading this tread regulary here, a lot tips and info here
at this moment i'm building a cyclone moore speed world edition kit

as i read above some people break the sevo saver post..
when building the kit, and more specific, the servo saver.., i was thinking...

is it normal that you must to tighten the the nut on the post so hard

the manual says that this must be 1,5 mm (space end post-nut)
but it's a realy hard job to get it at least at 1mm

i've build many cars, pro1, pro2, pro3, pro4, and now the HB cyclone wce

is this normal and would it affect quicker braking of the post...

thx people
Dave

I remember building my Clone and I ended up using a pair of Multi-grips (Channel Locks) to tighten to the correct tension. So yes it is very, very tight, but I'd still do it to the correct tension (1.5mm).
