VTA with 60's bodies is fun, but I think it may have gotten a big stale. Performance is now the #1 factor in deciding your body shell, and to me that seems to miss the point.
I think it would be fun to have a 1960 or earlier rule on the body type, these are the kinds of car bodies I would love to see raced in VTA:
1947 Mercury Woody Wagon:
1951 Henry J:
Anything made by Studebaker:
1959 Corvette:
What do you think? Are we tired of Cuda/Camaro yet?

id like to run some of the Tamiya bodies that are vintage based. Like this and the old Porsche.

Just a comment on the bodies. The class is centered around the original TransAm series run from the mid 60's to early 70's. It has had two revivals since with it racing in the mid 90's thru early 00's and in the last couple of years. The R/C version is the first one a bodies of that time frame. Sadly it does not include the imports that ran at that time.

with this many bodies on the list, how can the body list be stale?.... be different and run one that you don't see all the time. I started back running the J71 when to many Camaros showed up. Pick some flavor that may make your ride stand out.
Next, who in the heck picks a VTA body for performance?... are you crazy?...you pick a VTA body cause you like the body for its looks or cause you wanted one "back in the day" type stuff

That’s a lot more bodies then I was aware of. But honestly haven’t looked that far into VTA. Like a good majority went with Protoform.
I asked this in USGT and never got an answer. What if at big events, drivers had to include a first and second choice on body to use. First to register gets best chance of getting their first choice. Event host could decide a limit on how many of each body could race. Just a idea.

That guy
While I agree that most tracks have "that guy", the ultimate decision lies with the race director. I have been "that guy" and have been overruled by the RD or out voted by the group. :-)
