I haven't posted in a while on this thread, but thought I should add that I actually did quite well this year in the Hurricane Series using a TC4 in VTA. The car had a 2-3 year old battery and an original GTB. I was tied for 1st going into the last leg, but lost in part to bad velcro on my transponder. Oh, I was running diffs in the car too.
-----------
Since running VTA over the past several years I keep reminding myself that good setup and smart driving is more important than trying to buy a competitive edge through new electronics. Now if you have a bad electronic component, you should replace it. But the "old" stuff in my car has never prevented me from making an A-main against some of the best VTA drivers out there. In fact, I haven't replaced any of the electronics in my VTA for the past 2 seasons.

just picked a couple EDGE BALLISTIC combos up for my track. they are a killer price to get the BALLISTIC rebuild-able motor and a competitive speed control which has even made the "A" at vegas international indoor champs in 17.5 12th scale. so if the EDGE is good enough for a class that requires all the power you can get. it's right on for VTA with price and not worrying about if you have good equipment. Thanks NOVAK
