I am glad to read the rules of U.S. Vintage Trans-Am Racing Part 2.It is wonderful that
people can get easy access to knowledge about this event. Also, I liked reading all the specifications that were mentioned along with the rules.I am sure, my efficiency of racing after taking part in such events will increase manifold.

HPI Sprint 2 Sport rtr 69 Camaro, I know it's not VTA legal, but would the stock brushed system be about the same speed as 25.5 for someone to get started cheap? Just looking for affordable options to get new people into racing locally.

The motor in the RTR is listed as a 15 turn, so it would be significantly faster. Assuming you buy the 69' Camaro, everything else would be legal. I don't know if there is any brushed motor that would have similar performance to the 25.5 turn Novaks, maybe something from the crawler world or a "silver can" with a gearing limit?? Another relatively cheap option (aside from used stuff from ebay) is the TC4 Club racer Kit ($150) or a Sakura Zero S kit ($109) then add the Novak Club VTA system ($120). You'll still need body, tires & radio, though.

I always said that I would have them gear down and allow a grace period for that car, but sadly, no one ever showed up with one. I hope to run into that problem this year though.

At my local club, we integrated some vta cars with an older "gt3" class. The tamiya silver can motors were almost identical to the 25.5s used in the vta cars. They had a little better low end torque, but were a tad slower and ran hotter. The plus side is that they are very cheep (under $20).

So has anybody tried racing with the Speed Passion Reventon Stock Club Race ESC part number: SP000048? If you have, where did you get it from?
We are doing our best to bring them into USA...I want to say about 2-3 weeks.

Yeah, I hear you DARKSIDE. But I heard through the grapevine that the S.P. Reventon ESC is made out of this new material, Unobtainium, which makes it 100 times faster than all the other VTA Esc's out there.

My local track is running 17.5 motors in the vintage trans am class.
I guess they are getting outa mod class, so foam tires will no longer be legal.
Everyone has to run the same tires, and we run the HPI rubber tires.

I'll be running a 17.5 Novak Ballistic with a GTB speed control.
