@TommyR, thinking back to the days folks in this area ran 1/8th scale on road, the 4wd BMTs used to have a 10mm split in diameter between the front and rear. I don't recall 100%, but I believe that the car was "overdriven" (tires spun faster at a given rpm) to the front. As the front tires wore more quickly than the rears (generally), the car would "lose" front drive and the car would become more like a 2wd car. I remember him changing front/rear splits regularly to adjust handling. Keep in mind that 1/8th was with a oneway front and a spool rear.
With a TC3/4, I don't know of a way to adjust the drive ratio. Maybe the belt drive cars can do this. Could this be a tuning option in VTA? Seems like more "work" than "Fun" to me.

Squeeze until I can see glue in there. I use medium so it doesn't set too fast.
Work my way around in a clockwise direction. Glue never touches my hands.

Question on the data above........... Indy, how many of your VTA racers were using cooling fans and what FDR were they running? That might also be interesting to know.

Top 9 finishers are within one lap or less of leader which is no small feat in itself in normal rc racing, add to that fact there were 9 different chassis combinations in that top 9. Out of the total 15 racers there are 11 different chassis. Speaks volumes for the rule setup that has evolved within the VTA and how well it works for parity between low dollar/high dollar budgets.

Actually there were 10 different chassis combos in the top 10. The top TC3 has a aftermarket carbon fiber top deck/bottom chassis and has a shorter wheel base. Enough differences to consider it a different model.
Many of the people at our track are running fans in VTA. I've run a TC4 with a large heat sink and no fan and have qualified near the top in the past. Difference in motor temps at our track with/without a fan are usually around 10 degrees. Regardless, if you are getting a motor without a fan over 150 degrees at our track, your car isn't working well.

Here's some new stuff...
My LHS has stocked a couple of these fully RTR 1969 Camaros made by Vaterra. It's similar to the HPI Sprint 2 RTR Camaro, only it costs less. Also the Vaterra is a shaft driven car, not belt driven like the Sprint 2.
