lol...no actually Im doing a test....apples and oranges...since he cant get to the track...I would like to try some of these mods to see if its an improvement
You can view all my current mods on post #12996 , around page 867... There might be a few things added since then, but then again I add things every day ...lol... I think I've added:
#1: use battery tape only( saves 12grams)...
#2: use CRC aluminum ballstuds for less mass and more smoothness...
#3: drill the AE shock pistons in cross pattern up to 8 holes to make the fluid flow more laminar...
#4: use titanium turnbuckles on the camber links...
#5: use a short antenna to lower CG...
#6: use Amsoil 5% moly on the spool/diff outdrives...
#7: use titanium screws only on and around your motor to eliminate magnetic disturbance...
#8: drill your rear body posts as low as possible so you can lower the body as much as possible...
#9: crank up your radio EXPO and acceleration features to +100% or close to that value, while keeping some smoothness...
#10: use ofna diff lock lube on your rear ball diff to stop slip, and only loosen the screw 1/8th of a turn or so...
That's all for now....

All these mods can get your laptimes down a second or more per lap, and will reduce traction roll drastically...Also the tc4's aluminum spool/diff in combination with the CF driveshaft will yield the best results, due to the lower rotational mass improving acceleration.... A stock tc4 has no chance against a BERT modified one !!!
Yep. Pretty sure I have to give up on my TC4 now.

pics please....
and don't give up on the TC4, its a great chassis that is very good....it will and can win at almost any level in the right hands. Im just doing some testing on Bert's "mods" to see what is working and whats a waste of time and money

I forgot about this steering rack mod:
Guys, please add BERT's steering rack fix to post #12996....
BERT's Steering Rack Fix :
* Use three sizes of shims to take out slop: three 3mm(0.3) shims on the screws, one 5mm(0.2) shim on the pivots, and two 1/4"(#asc6373) shims between the pivots and the swing racks...
* Clean and polish all surfaces with the finest metal polish available....
* Tighten all screws until play is barely visible...
* Use Rpm ballcups ....

I will be the first to admit that I had a lot of time since March 23 2014 , and a lot of money spent on the same car in order to lose weight... Not all the mods are necessary, but since I did not test each mod, I don't know which will make the most impact...

do you have any pics of these mods?
Yes... The pics are in my albums under "BERT" and "berty"... Some mods are internal, and will not show in the pics....
For the plastic diff mod I use 3M 300lse tape between the D ring and the plastic outdrive to stop/slow the heat transfer that causes melting... If you add ofna diff lock lube on the ceramic balls, the heat will be further reduced due to less slip, and you will have the lightest diff (11 grams) in the tc world vs those 20+gram super heavy gear diffs in the belt cars. The tc4 with aluminum spool , aluminum diff, and cf driveshaft has the lightest drivetrain of the Rc industry....
You can also use the plastic dogbones in the rear to lose another 2+grams....

Bert, with all your mods, the one that ties them all together is the short antenna. That is the critical keystone mod. Without it, the rest just seem pointless...
