Associated's rc cheat sheets app has a ratio calculator also and its preloaded with ALL of their cars tranny ratios. It also has tons of explinations about what each individual adjustment to the suspension and chassis does. I use it all the time and have to say it was the best 2 bucks I ever spent on rc

I'm sure this has been covered but I did a search and couldn't find a direct answer. What wheel offsets should bu used for vta? I have read 6mm rear and 3mm front but I cant seem to find any 3mm offset wheels for the front, I only see 0 offset in fronts. Did something change or am I missing something? Anyone have the part numbers for the wheels I need handy?

Go to US Vintage Trans Am site. They are very specific of legal wheels. Fronts are 26mm with 0 offset. Rears are 31mm with 6mm offset only. They are also specific as to which wheel design (5 spoke, 8 spoke, etc).

Thanks for the website and clearing up the offset. How long does a set of those tires last on asphalt? I'm running an 8.5 turn motor right now just messing around in parking lots practicing, so how long will it take to shred a set of these tires?

I get about half that longevity with gratuitous amounts of tire softener on a tight, sealed outdoor asphalt track. Front ball diff, 21.5 Team Powers Actinium.

I got about 2 dozen packs give or take out of my vta rubber with 6.5 power bashing around. I never sauce or prep play tires I just rotate them side to side after each session to keep wear even.

Default VTA

Where, on your TC4, do you like to mount your lead weights to make the minimum weight limit for VTA?

It's been a little while since I posted any updates on my TC4 conversion.
This project has had a few delays but I am getting much closer to finalizing the design.
In this conversion are these features:
  • Super narrow (84mm) 2.5mm Carbon Fiber chassis.
  • Floating servo mount. (Steering)
  • 2mm CF top deck with flex optimization.
  • New 2 piece centrally fixed motor mount/bearing carrier. (Motor mount screw slot at the top for easier gear mesh adjustment)
  • Optimized for standard and shorty LiPo batteries. (adjustable weight compensation)
  • Reversed (conventional) layout similar to Awesomatics.
  • Closed pocket chassis plate for better flex balance at the rear.

Ultimately a lightweight, low C of G, narrow central weight and flex optimized for better performance and overall grip.

Are you using the FT or Club? On my club car, I haven't added anything and I'm over 25g

I've been testing one of YoDog's early prototypes and can say with my heavy electronics in it, long wires, and heavy bodies, I still have to add over 50g to get up weight. I'm hoping to get my hands on one of the new chassis to do some side-by-side comparisons.

Cichlid,
When I corner weighted my car, I put them where they were needed. In my case, it was 35 grams towards the rear of the battery and 21 grams centered on the upper bumper brace.

Nego,
There are different motor mounts for different models of the TC4. The Factory Team carbon fiber chassis has a different motor mount than the standard tub chassis's cam mount. Pics or accurate model name would be helpful.
