I have emailed the person who makes carbon fiber shafts. Lets see if he still does.

No luck on eBay

I have old Tc3 I haven't used in years and thinking of getting back into racing

Lipo's and brushless will be the 1st update

Is it worth converting it into a tc4 ?

I will be running in the 17.5t class can you make the car competitive compared to the newer cars ?

Thanks

I don't think the carbon fiber driveshaft will yield much improvement over stock, and you have to change the input cups too ! If they made one that did not require an input cup change, then I might buy one just to run 17.5 blinky....

Is it better to go with a smaller pinion and a smaller spur? I am running VTA right now i am using a 55t p and 81 spur.

Thanks, Brian

Not possible, and even if it was, it wouldn't be worth the work and price. But TC4 side braces (with vertical ball studs) are a nice upgrade IMO. To take full advantage of them, choose long ball studs with a 5/64 hex, and drill the ball cups to gain access to the hex. By the way, RPM ball cups are a MUST in my book. One last thing, the car is stiff as hell and cutting the inner part of each side brace improves that noticeably.

Yes, without a doubt.

Thanks

The FDR being equal it is better to use a bigger spur and pinion because it makes the drivetrain more efficient. In the case of shaft drive TCs it pushes the motor outboard though, which is bad. So it's a trade-off.

It is possible ... done it before, is it worth it .... no. The TC3 and TC4 basicly have the same suspension geometry.

Here is my TC3 with TC4 shock towers, chassis braces, steering blocks and top bumper brace.

I am trying to get my tc4 in Vta more turn in steering. I am running 3 degree rear toe. Will going to 2.5 or 2.0 give me more steering ?

Thanks, Brian

When are you trying to get more steering- off power corner entry? Or on power corner exit? It will make a difference on setup suggestions we offer you to try.

If the rear droop isn't enough I would go with softer front springs
