I bought a complete rear diff out of a never used TC4 Club for $18. I'm just going to swap it for the front diff. I'll experiment with it over the summer/fall. As I get better or put in enough time/wear on the components I can then upgrade to the lighter better parts. I'm trying to also reign in my spending since I've now got the TC7.1 to think about.

What is everybody using for diff lube? I've got a tube of the AE diff lube but I've read that there are some interesting alternatives so thought I'd ask. Thanks!
I've never broken a plastic outdrive. But they do wear out pretty quickly. They're pretty cheap to replace so if you're planning on sticking with them, get a packet or 2 of spares.

I stick with the stock AE lubricants.

Finally got to run the Kaizen on black carpet. It ran great and handled good all day. It responds to adjustments and was easy to start dialing it in. Few more changes and it should be on point. I wish we had asphalt racing here because Im sure it would really rock outside.

Just out of curiosity, what gearing are you running? Also, what is the mount you have for the fan over the motor?

RPM bumper upgrade complete. I removed the center section of the plastic bumper since I felt that it was just too stiff and even with the rubber grommets had no give at all. We'll see how it does tomorrow night.

The "pig" is being run at Queen City RC. Over the summer I hope to make it up to Dayton and Indy.

They just opened a black carpet place in central Texas so my first run will be Thursday night. Only a slight change from your setup is a local racer had some TC7.1 short shock and towers cut for the TC4.

Well, have fun! I really like the carpet. However, I've not run asphalt yet so we will see how that goes.

The asphalt track runs a spec HW X10 ESC and 3650 21.5 motor next weekend. That’s why I thought to ask where you were running. Thought we might be neighbors.

I’m going to get this thing ready for that track specifically but wanted to get some track time on that chassis ASAP to work out any issues. Not sure if black carpet is going to help or hurt me!! 😂

Just got back from a sweet 5 hour long practice. Sorry to say that the RPM bumper upgrade is kind of a fail. Hard to explain but there is nothing to hold the bumper (blue piece) from riding up over the rubber grommet and coming loose. I tried it both grommet on top and on bottom same problem, the bumper comes loose. Pretty irritating since you have to keep messing with it and it never stays put. Even with it on I broke a steering rack tonight. Maybe I'll mess around with it and see if I can improve it, otherwise it's coming off.
