The pic is Fischers car, hence the mod motor.

The other poster was asking for pictures of Jan Asmer's car from the stock class, as well as David Ehrbar's car from the mod class...

this is what David Ehrbar let me change at my car.

It gives the car a bit less initial steering and makes it more easy to drive.
you can dremel down the steering posts by 0.5mm or flip them and put 4.5mm shims under them to try the mod.
I like to thank the serpent team at the ETS, they where always willing to help everybody out, A or Q main.
you also need to dremel down the nut that holds the carbon servo piece

Does anyone have a photo of the X-Ray 4 spring servo saver installed?

Do you also add 0,5mm shim between the steering turnbuckle and steering block to keep bumpsteer?

Default General setup question.

Hey guys,
Just want to know what change will occur (in general)if I change the front spool to a ball diff.
I would normally just throw it in and find out,but I want to get to my track tommorow all set-up.
Setup= Gear diff rear,TE,10.5 up to 17.5.

Mainly interested on what you all think of corner entry/exit.
Thanks

you cut the excess plastik on the edges using a smallside cutter. then it fits.

I installed one on Ufuk's car last weekend.

I think the intention is to reduce the bumpsteer by lowering the rack... personally though, if that is the case, I don't know why you wouldn't just take 0.5mm off the underside of the steering block... easy enough to do with a file and a pair of calipers

Personally, I wouldn't bother, as I think you'll loose a lot of drive off the the corner. Having said that, if you run it really really tight, it might not be too bad, and act much like a gear-diff in the front. You would gain steering in and through, but lose exit... if it's a small track (not sure where in Melb your racing), with lots of turns, might be ok...

Hi Everybody,

My ETS-Setup is online on serpent.com including a list of optional parts I used.

Besides the steering-mod (#401512), it could be interesting that I used only one O-ring in the dampers and added 2 more of the #160109 shims instead, so the dampers have much less friction.

Actually it is cutting down 2.7mm. Or, easier: use the steering posts from the S411-FF, like I did ;-)

No, no shims. The point is to change the bumpsteer characteristics.

David,

I have checked your setup and the reference 401512 doesn't appears at serpent's web. If I check the s411ff the steering shafts are 401400 same as s411te, In the s411ff manual, yes it appears the 401512 reference.

So for the mod, you change the shafts, put it backwards and with a longer screw and add 4 mm of spacer between chassis and bearings, it's ok??

Regards
