If you use the V3 position it extends the link pretty far. I put longer links on mine just to be safe. That way you don't run the risk of them stripping themselves out during an impact.

Forgive my ignorance, Im stuck back on page 450 trying to read up to this point and figure out what the deal is with roll center. But I have to ask, what did you do to "try a high diff roll center"?

Assuming I have a stock kit setup on my TC6 or 6.1 and I want to try what you did what would I be changing exactly?

Turn the diff holders so the diff and spool are at highest point in the car, you will then get a higher roll senter.

Started to build my tc6.1 and two of my shocks are not threaded right on the bottom where the oring goes

When i saw your car for the nats, it seems like you have special caps on your schocks ?
I think this is off road caps.
Can you explain this new setup ?

Hi Fred, Yes Off road caps AND Off road shocks.

I believe those were just TC5 Shocks, not actual offroad units. The TC5 Shocks are able to use the Off-road, emulsion style shock caps.

I wanted to try emulsion style shocks (no bladder, air mixes with oil) and the easiest way to do this is to use older TC5 shocks that have the same thread as the off-road shocks. This way I could install the off-road shock caps with the bleeder screw.

Some drivers have tried to turn the standard TC6 shocks in emulsion style but the reliability has not been good. The TC5 shock is the easiest way to test the concept.

Emulsion shocks have been used on and off by other teams so I wanted to see how they compare. In my brief time using them, I think the emulsion shocks give you more traction. However I had some problems with the shocks I tested and did not have the right internal parts to try and fix them so I went back to bladder shocks which worked very well too.

It is too early to tell if emulsion shocks are the way to go. Perhaps they can be a tuning option. But for now I will continue to test them and see if they are actually better.
