Beth, do you know if he shaved/notched the hinge pin so the screw sits in that notch rather than try to stay in the circular shaped pin? I ask because in my losi they are the same and I always loose them due to the movement of the pins but in my kyoshos they have flat spot notches where the screw sits and I have yet to loose one in half a year.

I have been running the same setup for about 2 months without a notch in the pin,

I dont even bother with the screw that holds the pin in.
Here i just made sure the pin rotates freely in the arm, so the set screw is always holding it in the hub tight. i just check them after every meeting, but have not come loose just yet.

I used a 2.5mm drill bit and a 3mm set screw to get lots of thread bite on the screw.

We don't notch the pins so it is easier to install and remove, but we do use the pin retaining screws on the arms so the pins can't come out accidentally.

Having issues with my steering not centring on my TC6 and it seems the servo saver may be at fault. What is the best solution for this? Should I turn the servo as shown in the post below and add a Kimbrough or Associated servo saver? Whats the best way to attach the servo to the chassis? Epoxy or will tape surfice?

use screw blue glue

or do servo mod ;)

Crank the servo saver nut to full tight and use a little loctite on it so that it does not come loose. Also be sure that there is no binding in your steering system. Pop the ball cup off the servo horn and make sure that you have bind free travel 100% in each direction.

Rick, what size are the spacers Keven is using behind the shock mounts ? 2 MM ?

Pulled the servo out and checked the steering system. It was smooth but not loose. Greased ball cups and freed them up a bit. Also noticed some marks on the servo case where the arm had been rubbing, so I shaved that down. Also tightened the servo saver right up.

Steering seems much better, but won't be able to test it til next week, but hopefully that has solved my issues. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure what he uses but 2-3mm is the range. I use 3mm.

2mm spacer and 8mm screw to hold the shock mount and spacer in place ........ that'll work ;)
