Default Shimmed

I decided to clean the carpet out of my usgt 21.5. I shimmed in field. That put rotor almost touching.

If anyone has a HB Pro5 for sale let me know I'd like to run that chassis for usgt!

That's one more body, than there are racers worldwide.

We have 4 regulars and another 3 in the wings at our club.
Two of us, after some brief testing of Protoform, Montech, and ZooRacing - find that the Gorilla gives us the best corner speed and steering for our Black Carpet, tight indoor track.
Love the FwD cars.... Gives a different dynamic driving feel. And the chassis are a discount compared to the full 4WD.

I like it a lot. I give up a little to the 4wd on tight tracks.

Just came back from Winter Warrior IV at 180 Raceway. We had 21 entries in USGT and 12 entries in FWD for the mains. Both ran on the same belted USGT tires. Weight for USGT is 1350g and FWD is 1250g. The fastest guys in USGT were turning 9.4-9.5 second lap times on VERY HIGH bite black CRC carpet. The fastest FWD car was turning 9.8-9.9 second lap times. These are some of the best racers in the country. I ran both classes myself. My best lap time in USGT was a 10.0 (the car had 9.7-9.8's in it but I struggled a bit with my set up and driving style) and in FWD a high 10.2 seconds. I ran the Zoo BWOAH in USGT and the ProtoForm Speed3 body in FWD. In the FWD main there was a mix of bodies (Zoo Gorilla, MonTech Civic, PF Speed3, Bitty CA45 and maybe a Hyperbia). The FWD is a lot faster down the straight since its lighter and FDR is a bit lower. The USGT car is fast but the FWD is just a lot of fun to drive.

You're right, he turned a 9.689 second lap on lap number 5 in Q4. All other laps were in that 9.8-9.9 second range though. Crazy fast!

2-3 tenths faster than the rest of the FWD field, and there are some very fast guys in that field out there.
