USGT
Holy Smokey Robinson... yall will F Up a class ... I cant believe I took the time to read all this at 1230am ... I would love to see all this on the track and make a difference to anybody but a "pro" driver... come on guys yall killing it... can we just work on setup and running the motors as they were intended ?... I have one of the original 5 motors and it still works just fine,, with the right FDR and setup Im right there in the mix or on top of the pile.
Lets just race and have some fun... put some mirrors and headlights in your GT car and feel the fun

I wrote that rule so it encompasses every class that a sanctioning body may cover. The USGT class does not have a spec chassis, so that part of the rule would not apply to USGT. The only things spec in USGT are ESC, Motor, and Tire, everything else is fair game.

How is this a USGT specific problem? That applies to any blinky class.

The problem with stickers is the adhesive softens with heat, and when it gets hot enough, it falls off. The best solution that I can think of is packaging the USGT motor in a 2-in-1, like the hobbywing axe system, measuring no-load amp draw to see if it matches a predetermined figure, using nail polish to color the screws and using that for a handout motor.
If the rule makers wanted to truly put an end to all the nonsense while making things easier on themselves, race directors, racers, and newcomers, the following rule would be added; Any alteration of any kind to any part, motor, tire, esc, servo, body, wing, and/or chassis determined to be spec is forbidden, no exceptions. If found to be violating this rule you will be automatically DQ'd, furthermore if found violating this rule at a sanctioned regional or national event you will be suspended from participating in any and all future sanctioned events.
The problem with this is, from what I have seen, most of the cheaters are really good friends/associates of the track owner. Also, There would have to be a BOLO for this cheater at every track. Otherwise, they may be suspended at one track, but they would just go to the next track until their suspension is up.
There is nothing that can be done to prevent cheaters. Although they are the most childish and immature people in the RC world, they will keep doing it because they think it makes their tiny winky bigger. Some racers just like the thought of being a rebel by beating the system and winning. If that is the case, maybe there should be a class for that one. A 21.5 class where you have to use all stock spec, blinky, and fixed timing electronics. However, you can modify it all you want but it can't look like it was modified.

The motor/esc combo is a good idea that I personally don't prefer due to electronics be crammed in to a small enclosure next to a heat source, but at the same time it makes things that much easier and it cuts costs.
None of this would be an issue and all of these rules wouldn't have to be made if people were able to race classes as intended, but nope, people just can't let things be. Remember it's you that chose to race a spec class, there are other classes that you can tinker to your hearts delight, go race in that class.

The solution to no tampering with the ESC or Motor is Liquid Contact Indicators (LCI). Simply add the fluid to the indicator itself, put on the inside, and if you try to open the motor, it turns blue ( or what ever color the manufacturer wants). Comes attached on the inside from the factory, no way around setting it off if you try to open either. You could add indicator strips for easy visual verification at races.
However, many different things are killing USGT, and RC racing in general. Creating tamper free parts won't fix that.
But it is hella entertaining to read.
