Usgt is all Motor and battery. If you are just out for fun, not so Important but if you want to be competitive you need one of the top motors and a really good battery to keep up. See what's fast at your local track and go from there

Not sure why people are ragging on the tires, they last twice as long as TC tires and provide good grip once broken in and they are inexpensive.

Your body choice is a good one but it tends to body tuck (rear valance can get stuck under rear tires). Extra trimming or anti tuck stiffeners from profoform will fix that easy.

Dman18T already gave you some excellent advice and I'll add a couple of things. First off, the MX-V transmitter is excellent. That will serve you well. As far as speed controls, I would recommend a Hobbywing Justock XR10 that costs around $50 new. Maybe $30 used. And buy a 30mm fan for the motor. My 21.5 motor runs around 145F with a fan, and this weekend the fan broke and it ran around 185F, which is close to being too hot. A cheap 30mm fan should be around $10, and solder it directly to the battery leads on the ESC. That way it runs at full voltage. Good luck and have fun.

My advice is practice, practice, practice....then practice some more. See if there is anyone at the track that has the same brand of car that you have and show them your car. They probably have some good advice to share.

I am going to try running GT this coming weekend along with my usual VTA.

Need some suggestions on a GT body. Hope I am not opening a can of worms here.Haha.

Two or three choices would be good. Thanks to all.

Default USGT body

The most common USGT bodies I've seen recently are the BittyDesign Venom F5, The Exotek P Zero and also the R Tek, the Protoform GT (190mm) and the McAllister MxStang.

I remember that first day. I won with a borrowed TA05 with an NSX body.

You guys will be happy but I'm bummed, PZero is discontinued. The PZero was my favorite USGT body.

What’s a good body with front motor clearance? Some of these low front bodies such as the P zero aren’t going to fit. I like the mxstang, but not sure if it will work. I currently have a 20 year old Volvo S60 body.
