Losi XXX-S

Hi Todd,
i noticed on my G+, during the day when its quite hot, my car tends to understeer, but as soon as the track temp goes down the car is pretty much on rails, steering wise... any thoughts?

Is there any way you guys could tell me if this car is a G+ just by looking at the bottom?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks! It is still a competitive car right?

Should be. It just won't have things like the adjustable ackerman,(something I have yet to test,) or the offset rear hubs and the arms to go with them unless they put those on afterwards. But nothing to keep it from being competitive. As long as it's been built properly.

If it was a real car, I'd say use some higher temp (harder) tires. It sounds like the heat is making them a little greasy, and as it cools off they come back into their traction range. You could also try playing with traction compound.
My $0.02.

I think by flipping the bell cranks upside down it makes the steering more responsive but when you flip them you also need to change your servo saver/horn so you can get the proper alignment and through.

When I received my car the bell cranks were foward. My setup called for them to be back. In order to do that I had to flip them over for there to be clearance and not have them hitting the chassis. I don't think its a setup option, I think its a clearance issue whether they are flipped.
In the rear position the long arms are foward and in the front position the short arms are forward.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

You can use the bellcranks in the forward holes with out flipping them too. When they are in the rear holes I dont think there is enough room to run them flipped. And yes this all is a setup option....it will change your ackerman and steering response.

Kevin K,
Just wanted to say nice job this weekend. You car was dialed bro. By far the most dialed Losi in the building. Nice running with ya again. I will see you in January at the Novak Race. Keep me posted for an entry. I do not want to miss it.
Tell Brad I said Thanks if you remember....... Brushes are going to be dialed. Cannot wait to work with them.

J.....Ok here is the setup that Im running. I did not come up with this setup but I played with it alittle most of it was done by a local factory Losi racer Brian Jucha. With his help the local losi guys around here were able to improve alot thanks to him
Front
50wt Oil
57 piston
Orange spring....the stiffer orange
#2 hole for the shock
#2 hole for the camber
Bell cranks forward
2R block used in the front in the lower holes
Losi Low roll center
6 deg castor block
TC3 hexes up front
Big sway bar.... .078? maybe what ever the biggest one losi offers for the front
Arms spaced to the middle
1 1/2 deg camber
Zero Toe In
5mm ride height
2.5mm of droop over ride height
Losi brown grease used on the diff
Rear
50wt oil
55 piston
Black spring
#3 hole for the shock
#5 hole for the camber
Outside hole on the arm
0 deg offset hubs
Ti ball stud used on the outside of the hub
Arm spacing .090 in the front and .030 in the rear of the arm
Very low roll center block used in the rear
2R block in the lower holes
1 deg of camber
5mm ride height
2mm of droop over ride height
Losi hex in the rear with .5mm spacer to get to legal width
Jaco Purple/Orange front tires and Purple rear tires 28mm wide cut to 2.28"
Gearing 35/128 with a Monster motor for an 88ft straight
Losi Alfa body mounted super low.....the tops of my front shocks are ground away to get the body lower.
The car is super easy to drive and is VERY fast through the corners and out. I ran this set up at the NORRCAR Halloween Classic last weekend and qualified 6th and finished 6th in a field of 7 TC3's 1 Xray and 2 Losi's. I turned some of the fastest laps all weekend in my qualifiers just luck and mistakes kept me from being up front.
