Ill Factor and all other xxx-s drivers. I highly recommend getting some 3/32 e-clips and putting them on both sides of all the hinge pins. The hinge pins are even recessed just for this purpose. The set screw for the pins may be enough, but if you have the e-clips on there, you have nothing to worry about as far as the hinge pin coming out.

Hope this helps,
Jits

Default One ways...

With all the talk of the One ways, has anyone tried playing with the 41T Pulley in the rear with a one way up front?...

I have been meaning to try this, but on race day I have to set up my girl friends TC3 and my car. Needless to say, time tends to be short, if the set up is gawd awful I would not have the time to change it back.

Cool

Mad Cats from what I have read if you run the 41 tooth pulley in back and the One way up front you basically get 4WD again, so to me it doesnt make sense to do it.

Okay, I do admit my lodgic is a bit in left field here, but...

Off trottle, your car is 2wd, as the One way only drives the front tires on power. Giving the car off power streering

The 41T would spin the rear tires faster then the front at full trottle. Furthermore the 41T in the Rear is said to give more on power steering.

Basicly my lodgic falls out like this, At full traction to the rear wheels the car would have less drive train drag (basicly 2wd under full traction), with lost traction in the rear, the Front would drive the car and under cornering, the rear wheel would roll slightly better with the 1.78 drive train ratio.

With this fuzzy lodgic, I have not tried this.. but was woundering if someone else has...

Default Cats

Cats your onto it in theory. The ratio would change but the car would react as if 4WD

Does anyone know if the Red ball links that come with the Matt Francis edition Losi truck will fit on the xxx-s? I think they'd look cool.

Thanks,
Jits

I have the red ball cups on my xxx-s. I just measured the length of the stock ones, marked the red ones and cut them to the required length. They do look cool. Kinda adds a personal touch!

People look at my car and can't believe it works that way. Now let's see if the setup works after I put that one way in....
one of the fast guys at my local track runs blue all around w/ 60 wt. in the rear and 40 wt up front. it sounded wierd, but i had to try it for myself. it worked really well, and i didn't give up any rear bite - i did however gain a bit more on-power steering. last night while i was praciticing, i threw in the one-way, and it worked pretty well. i kept the springs the same but i changed the oil to 42.5 wt rear & 45 wt front. it had gobs of steering and the rear would loosen up only if i let off the throttle to abruptly. other than that, it was real predictable. i'm gonna race this set-up tonight, hopefully it (i mean i) will be competive

1. What are the advantages and disadvintages of running a one -way on a carpet track?

2. What is the advantages of getting the shortened front shock bodies? Do you need get the shortened shock bodies for the rear of the car?

you don't need the short shock shafts on the rear of the car.

Thanks for the tips guys. I am putting together a pit box from scratch since I have been out of cars for years. It is costly, tough but fun to do. From bashing the boards, what is the most common parts to break on the XXX-S? Our LHS is short on XXX-S parts so I will have to look elsewhere. Are any of the XXX buggy parts used on the S? The LHS has a full compliment of those.
