proudwinner- I haven't run into this problem. Are your cvd's bent? Have you tried that test with a new set of cvd's?

STLNLST- I hear ya, the cvd's aren't bent. They're straight as can be. I've got 62/60 dialed in my radio for EPA and thats just probally too much.

well after racing tues, my oneway blew up...not broke, but blew...the left bearing has needle bearings falling out....and i only had prolly 5 packs threw it.....you can bet losi will be seeing that part again.......i thought the two bearings, and small sive would be no good....but figured that they checked it out.....ohwell.....

Spash is TQ in Cleveland after 2 rounds....BK is 5th-6th... PL 7th or 8th.

2-3 cars is the stock main so far....

Hi everyone!

I am new on this thread because I just bought a LOSI XXXS. Usually I race with an Associated TC3.

I've assembled the kit myself and after putting on the electrics (CYCLONE & KO), Battery and body the total weight was of 1.590kgs, which is a bit high. The ideal would be of 1.510kgs.

Would a graphite chassis make the .080kg difference?

senna- The graphite chassis will help out some but I'm not too sure as to how much. This XXX-S is pretty heavy compared to other sedans but it still performs well regardless of weight. Making the car lighter will help out a bit but IMO I think that too many people are so worried about not being able to keep up with the lighter cars....but I have seen the exact opposite. I did lighten mine up but honestly the only reason why was because I have always run graphite/lighter pieces on my cars. I never ran the car with the stock pieces on it. I went right to all the bells and whistles. Run the car for about a month to get a good feel for it and then start throwing graphite on. That way you can see for yourself how if effects the car. If you have any other questions there are more than a fair share of XXX-S owners on this thread and they are all VERY HELPFUL. Hi i am new to these boards and have just got a xxx-s, i have read that some of you have been cutting the front shock shafts to stop the front shock pistons running in the air at the top of the shock bodies is this right? How much do you cut them in mm as 0.800 dont mean a lot to me! Also how much do you cut the ball joint at the bottom of the shaft? As i have been brought up usind milimeters and centimeters (i live in the UK) i have never used inches and stuff Sorry for been a hassle! Thanks for any help, Rick

Welcome Rick,

It's actually .080" not .800", in mm you'd want to cut just about 2mm off the shaft. Same amount applies to the plastic eylet as well. A tiny bit more or less won't matter, but do try to get both shafts as equal as possible and both eyelets as well.

An easy conversion to remember is to multiply any inch number you see by 25.4 to get millimeters.

2nd race day with the XXX-S and it was handling much better than box stock (blue springs came in) . Although, box stock still put me in the A-main for my first race with the 3X-S.

2nd race day wasn't as nice as the first. I've had a broken front hub carrier and my servo saver has come apart on me on two separate heats. The "rubbing" was especially elevated today as our "expert" drivers were driving really rough. As I see failure reports on those front carriers, does anyone have a "cure". How about the servo saver?

RacerTex - The best cure for those broken front hub carriers is to install a Bud's TC3 or XXX-S bumper. Obviously the one made for the XXX-S is better than the one for the TC3 because it fits perfectly but in a pinch the TC3 one works just fine. IMHO it is the number one cure for broken front end pieces and believe me when you race indoor carpet you need all the front end protection you can find.

As for the servo saver, are you using a long enough screw to hold the saver on? I ended up having to use a little longer screw than the one that came with my servo because the servo saver was so deep.

Also check the servo output gear and make sure that the threads are not stripped.
