mdm3,
something that most people dont know is that you can go fast with any trinity stock motor if you gear and tune it right. those data stickers dont mean squat!! the only way they vary is the power band can vary motor to motor. so if you know how to set them up and gear each motor right, youll be just as fast with whatever.
yes, that means two p2k2's can have a slightly different power band and nead to be geared differently.
it is true though that a p2k is better for small, tight tracks and a green machine 3 is better for large, sweeping tracks.

yok guy......try one of these things.....it is all in the caster....first try taking out the 4 deg caster blocks...if that helps your ok...it did on mine...
if it does not put in 2 deg blocks...keep messing with the kick and caster...you will find it....also try standing the front shocks up a bit...you should be ok....

Yes as Mr losi suggests try running 2deg caster rather than 4. I have found that doing this is very beneficial. also as Mr losi also suggests if the front shocks are more upright thaen the steering response is a bit faster with a little less understeer. personally depending on the track I only ever change between the very inside hole (layed right down) and the next one out. I also run slightly harder springs than you mention. I use purple up front and green in the rear. I find that this setup is the best starting point track to track and I can then simply fine tune shock position to get the max.
try it it will work!!

MDM3 yes I got your e-mail and thanks the site is great. Havent had a chance to look at it in more detail yet though!!

And now for something completely different...
Watch out for binding in the front of the car. The new molds for the Graphite Arms have thicker housing around the hinge pin. When running low roll center blocks the arm can rub on the chassis and cause it to bind. This had me spellbound as I could not determine the cause. The solution is easy enough though...just shave away what you must from the arm to allow for a free range of motion.
Hope this helps, happy racing.

Low Speed Steering
Thanks guys for your input. I asked Todd Hodge as well from Losi and he said the same thing as what you guys pointed out. Moving out on the shock tower and going to 2 degrees castor. I'll do some R&D this weekend. Thanks again for all the responses.

LRC MOD
BrianC, I had the binding problem you mentioned when going to the LRC with graphite conversion. I had to shave the lower molding of the front arms to free up the suspension. It was good that you mentioned it.

The Blue 64 pitch spur is 128 tooth. A-3954. We gear our P2K2s between 128 and 33-37, depending on track layout.

I have a couple revvy P2K2s in my XXX-S, geared at 128/27. I'm as fast an anybody at our track, and my motor comes off the track about 30 degrees cooler.
Plus it sounds like a mod going down the straight.
